Well stay tuned. 4 shots of espresso in hand - 90 minutes until seating begins at Main Stage, and I'm ready for some pictures, some observations, your questions and a prize. :)
First of all, I know every time I tell you I have a pet peeve I tell you it's my #1 pet peeve, but seriously - HOTEL TV'S WHERE SOME CONDESCENDING WOMAN COMES ON EVERY TIME YOU HIT THE POWER TO TELL YOU HOW TO USE YOUR REMOTE??
Geez - if someone in America is so impaired as to need a TV tutorial, they should not be traveling alone. I'm thinking straps, gurneys, padded rooms, feeding tubes.
Can we get those things killed? Someone please get on it. I just want to wake up and turn the news on.
Last night, Jane and I had the following adventures:
I drove to downtown Orlando trying to find Amura restaurant with my lights off (YES 1985 WANTS ITS CAR WITHOUT AUTOMATIC LIGHTS BACK)
But then, total geeks that we are, we had to bring our catalogs in with us for a little sushi and stamping. My beloved Jane was having sushi for the first time, as I like to force people to do.
Speaking of Jane - look what she made me!! And it was full of my BELOVED Dove Chocolate!!! Love Jane, I do!
Neelam, Jenn - Takashi in Salt Lake is still officially the best sushi restaurant in North America. *sigh*.
But ours was good - especially the spider roll. Mmm.We wrecked house on some edamame. They had these beautiful little dishes. I thought the eggplant would make a great stamp. And blue bamboo? Really? No veggie stamps in the new catalog.
Then on the way back, we needed drinks at Walgreens (no mini bar in the hotel and I'm not drinking tap water people - do you know what hotel pipes look like???) and it was totally in the hood. But we lived and here are some answers for you.
1) Circle cutter. We saw the box yesterday and it's by CutterBee made for us I guess. You need a glass mat. The base part looks more stable than the retail Cutterbees. The glass mat is $19.95, the cutter is $29.95 and the extra blades are $3.95. It cuts ciircles from 1" to ... pretty big - I can't remember and it doesn't say in the catalog. I'm going to see if I can try it today.
2) New punches - the Heart to Heart I've been using - with the three little hearts. The Large Heart punch which is perfection - heart is same size as the large star, and the Eyelet Border punch. That's it! You can save your money for stamps & Paper & owls & decor elements & corduroy.... well, not "save" so much :)
Okay - ready for a giveaway? Want to win something from Memento Mall? I'm not sure what yet because I need to try to get some things that were limited yesterday for my downline & friends, but it will be something great!
The first person to tell me what's wrong with this picture wins!!! If you comment Anonymously, you need to at least include your name in your comment and then email me your name, email address and address!!
Updates from the floor ahead!!
Have you signed up for the UBlue Cyber Club? Attended one of my Webinars?? Come on - get your geek on! :)
it looks like the lanes are messed up - the 2 lanes should be going in instead of out. Almost looks like something you would see in England (since the wheel is on the opposite side....)
ReplyDeletedriving on the wrong side of the road for north america!!
ReplyDeleteKirsti Tibbo
ummmm... what happened to driving on the right????
ReplyDeleteIt appears to me that you would be in England when this pic was taken. Most definitely the wrong side of the road according to the arrows. Hope your having a great time and thanks for sharing so much with us. Stacy White
ReplyDeletearrows are going wrong way for the stop sign . . .
ReplyDeletethe stop sign is on the wrong lane...it would be behind people drving if that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteamy
tjajmoore@comcast.net
I would say they are either in Europe, or the workers were. The lanes are backwards. We would normally enter on the double lane side and exit on the single lane side. I bet that would confuse a bunch of us if we pulled up and saw that . . .LOL
ReplyDeleteBesides the arrows being on the wrong sides, the lanes are sized wrong for the pay booth at the end. The driver can't pay going out either.
ReplyDeleteThe Lanes are opposite!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy?
annette@ink-paper-scissors-rock.com
they have you traveling on the left hand side instead of right
ReplyDeleteWell, since I'm #11 it's kind of pointless to point out that this parking garage has messed up it's design so badly that they had to reverse the lanes - man I bet that caused some accidents!
ReplyDeleteOR is the photo reversed?
Anyway - thanks for all your wonderful - funny! - posts!
Cheers
Carol

ReplyDeletewe know the arrows are wrong, but the only thing REALLY wrong is that it's a picture of a parking garage and NOT a picture of new catty stuff :)
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing all your great updates!
Suzanne
Nothing would be wrong with the picture if you were in England, however, in the States, we put our lanes the other way!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!
Whoa! 2 lanes OUT on the wrong side and 1 lane IN on the wrong side. Gotta do some tricky cross traffic maneuvering to get in and out of the garage.
ReplyDeletethose lanes are definitely on the wrong side. I used to live in central FL and I know they aren't all backwards down there. Of course, I did steer clear of Orlando unless we were heading to Sea World. Hope you're having fun! I just found your blog yesterday and have had a blast reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteleft lane should be on right side, and visa versa. The two right lanes should be on the left side. Good times. Must mess a TON of people up!
ReplyDeleteWow, is all I can say. I know I wasn't the first but I have to agree with Suzanne. The main thing wrong with that picture is that it's not of new products! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a blast, and thank you so much for sharing everything with us!!!
The arrows are in the wrong direction for us!
ReplyDeleteJeez I guess I am like the 98th person to tell you that the lanes are on the wrong side. :) Get out a stamp and some ink and fix it. :) Thanks for all the fabulous updates. And that Sushi looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the lanes have been reversed - kind of like you are in Europe, instead of the good ol' USA...but could it be a mirror image?
ReplyDeletethe lanes are reversed...we have some like that here for emergency vehicles to go down opposite ways on one ways if need be
ReplyDeleteyikes! Scaaarrreeee
ReplyDeleterofl - I commented only to comment because I see you have your prize winner, but then my word verification was alleymen - hehe - tfs all the leadership goodness!
ReplyDeleteROFL! Posting at 5:59 a.m.? How in the world am I supposed to have a chance to win with you posting that early? Obviously, someone (probably from 1985) painted those arrows facing the wrong direction.
ReplyDeleteLove my word verification today, "gratrip". Usage in a sentence: Lydia went down to Leadership and had a lot of fun. She said it was a gratrip.
Have a great day!
well I'm not the first, but I can tell you that most roads in Florida you are supposed to drive on the right side. Was this an English parking garage?
ReplyDeleteWell even in 1985 we didn't drive on that side of the road here in North America!
ReplyDeleteI thought you were in Florida. These lanes are backwards. Have a great time. I'd love some of the Momento Mall goodies. They did a great job on them this time.
ReplyDeleteWell, it does not look like I'll win (Darn Day Job), but yeah, arrows in teh wrong direction. BTW, those of us who learned to drive in cars without automatic lights still turn ours on and off OUT OF HABIT. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd Sushi makes me gag. I cannot HANDLE the Nori. But the Edamame? I'm there!
That IS strange??? Hopefully you reversed the pic somehow and that's not REALLY in Orlando??? Obviously I'm a day late, dollar short :) Thought I'd mention that I LOVE Dove too...any special variety you like? The Milk chocolate, Dark, Caramel, etc.?
ReplyDeleteAlso, as for the hotel rooms with the annoying tv pre-set channel...I've stayed in lots with those, and does your start out at like volume-level ear-splitting? That's how ours have been, so not only is it idiotic that it comes on every time you turn your tv on, but it's so loud it will wake up your neighbors!!
Arrows are facing the wrong direction! Thanks for the updates from Leadership....
ReplyDeleteClara
"Hey, James Bond, in America we drive on the right side of the road" - "I am. You try driving in platforms." Classic Clueless movie qoute.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all the updates from Leadership!

This pic gave me the shivers! I have a slight fear of parking ramps and this one would validate that. The errors look a bit mixed up. (One time I was so confused where I was to go in a really confusing ramp that I went DOWN the UP winding ramp. I had to back up the winding ramp while a person honked at me the entire time!!!)
ReplyDeleteAdair
asvoboda@juno.com
It looks like you are driving on the wrong side of the road by looking at the arrows painted on the street! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the lanes are on the opposite sides, kinda like you would see in Europe. Crazy!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your updates.
ReplyDeleteDid you go into this parking garage in the exit lanes which are on the wrong side of the ramp? It looks like it would be very easy to get mixed up with that set-up. And freaky too if another vehicle was coming out as you turned in!
Heather A.
It took me a bit...long morning! The lanes are going the wrong way!
ReplyDeleteOMG.....the lanes are flipped so you'd be driving on the left instead of the right!!!! What's up with that?
ReplyDeleteYikes! Your driving the wrong way!!! Thanks for all the fabulous updates, I really appreciate it :o) Enjoy the rest of your trip.
ReplyDeleteD'oh! they must have let the Euro-Crew do the painting!!! Are you at a Hotel Sofitel or other Euro hotel?
ReplyDeleteAre you in London? The arrows are completely messed up!!!!! Thanks for the opportunity to win some blog candy!!!
ReplyDeleteLoving all your Leadership gossip!!
I laughed so hard about your comment on the GPS "Recalculating!Recalculating!" My husband & I almost got divorced over that stupid thing when we were trying to find our way around a closed bridge in Massachusetts. OMGosh and the first time I used one, in Atlanta, it kept sending me in circles; found out later the off ramp had been redesigned but the GPS didn't know that of course. Anyway, thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteThe lanes are wrong. What's up with that??
ReplyDeleteKaren Monger khphb@verizon.net
HI Lydia,
ReplyDeleteFIRST OF ALL, I LOVE your blog! Thanks for taking the time to post from leadership.
About the picture, beside the fact that the lanes are going the wrong direction, it looks like the stop sign is in the wrong spot.
I know! I know! These lanes think we are in Europe! LOL! The lanes are switched around!
ReplyDeleteToo funny.
The lanes are wrong for the U.S. You're driving on the left side instead of the right side.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD!!! Which way do I go???
ReplyDeleteHope you can find your way around down there. Are you sure this picture is from the states? Maybe the workers were suffering from heat stroke. I have never seen anything like this. The arrows are definitely going the wrong way. Thanks for sharing your trip and the new catalog items with us. Your blog is the best for updates from leadership!!!
Are you in Europe for this conference???? LOL!!!!
ReplyDeletedogone it! That's what I get for working night shift....48 people guessed before me! (Oh well, after a 12 hour night shift I probably am too brain dead to figure out the pic anyway! *grin*)
ReplyDeleteStill thanks so much for keeping us updated. I'm so SU excited right now! And I'm jealous you got to go enjoy all that yummy looking sushi....mmmmmmmm.....my fav! :)
Hmmmm, the lanes are marked incorrectly! Looks good if you were in Europe. Kind of scary.
ReplyDeleteI am going to go with the "un obvious"...the stop sign is saying "Stop", but if you were driving in the direction of the arrows (on the wrong side of the road mind you), there is no way to even stop....just reaching here...And yes...my word verification...."unmete"...must be alien language for "vegetarian" :)
ReplyDeleteI know! I know! I know!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou Photoshopped it and turned the pic around backwards.....LOL Do I win??? LOL ;)
Thakns for all your hysterical updates! Even before orlando, yours is the first I read daily!
And no I am NOT schmoozing...rofl
But, hey..Id really LOVE one of those Paper Samplers. <3
I would have thought that this was normal back in 1985. Tells you a lot about me, huh? I've driven in the dark to 6th St., girl, without my lights on! I'll tell you the story someday (it was in 1985 [not really, 1991, close enough] I was soooo embarrassed! TFS, KYDIA!
ReplyDeleteUh- how can you stop at a stop sign if you are driving away from it! Wow! Thats a good one! thanks for all of the updates from Leadership. I just found your blog and loooovvvvveeee it!
ReplyDeleteLyn schumacher
You cheatin'...you flipped the picture :-)
ReplyDeleteor you took a quick trip to Ireland overnight...sushi isn't so good there...LOL Come to vancouver and visit..I'll show you sushi...Sue
Ummmmm - lanes are reversed - scary!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your wonderful info - keep it coming!

Apparently a British guy painted the traffic directional arrows. They are backward for the US!
ReplyDeletelanes are on wrong side of road unless you somehow teleported to Australia thru your navigation gadget! :) MMM that sushi looks so good!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing!
elizabeth
The lanes are backwards( on the wrong sides). Love all of the leadership updates!
ReplyDeleteCathy in MN
ucseal@msn.com
either they've got the lanes going the wrong way, or the guy painting the arrows for the lanes was messed up on smelling rubba when he painted..... Definately NOT the right side of the road to be driving on in the good ol' US of A that is for sure.... does bring me back to my days in Japan though LOL (cept that is not how the stop signs looked in Japan).....
ReplyDeletePS: I thought I wanted a Nav system, but after hearing my moms and my dads while on the phone with them I've def. changed my mind... my moms says "TURN AROUND TURN AROUND TURN AROUND" if she misses a turn LOL and my dads does the "RECALCULATING" thing too LOL! Phew, I'd throw that lady out the window that is for SURE!
hmm... not a thing looks weird to me on this pic (i LIVE in orlando, so i'm used to it) *snicker
ReplyDeletethanks for the updates.
verification? oustio? isn't that the weird stuff they were putting in food instead of fat?
The lanes are on the wrong side. Americans drive on the right of center.
ReplyDeleteThanks for offering the memento candy and sharing all the info and excitement.
Stop sign for the lanes going up... if you are going up you can't stop.Jan M
ReplyDeleteagain stop sign for the lanes going up....if you are going up you can't stop. Jan M
ReplyDeleteLove it! We can legally drive on the wrong side of the road! Thanks for all the wonderful sneak peaks! Crisanne Durrant (dcdurrant@emerytelcom.net)
ReplyDeleteI know I'm too late for the giveaway :) but yes, arrows are totally the wrong side for a US street. Lydia, thanks so much for all your posting during leadership. It is exciting to see all the cool stuff coming out.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you standing in the oncoming traffic lane? Since the driver will already be confused by the arrows going the wrong way, and the fact that it is dark out and blindingly bright in the parking garage--better run for safety!!
ReplyDeletejahed-these security words are starting to look like security risks!
Driving lane directions are reversed, oncoming traffic is on the right instead of on the left. Why do we Americans do things backwards??
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you aren't in LONDON? LOL! I saw the photo before I read the script and was thinking "where did she take THAT?"
ReplyDeleteThanks SO MUCH for the updates! You are a doll to take the time to feed our hungry minds with all the good information. Enjoy the rest of Leadership and travel safe! Brenda
looks like you are in the wrong lane going the wrong way!
ReplyDeleteHi Lydia,
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great info! Given your camera abilities I'm thinking you did a composite keeping the back correct (I checked the spelling on the stop sign - lol!) and flipping the front lanes.
On the other hand you may have just taken the picture out the back window as you are leaving part of the structure so it only looks like you are entering with lanes flipped.
Tricky Lady Lydia either way!
Okay, I immediately felt like the picture was taken in England...Helloooo, we drive on the right, not the left (maybe the person painting was a lefty ;-D) This would totally throw me off and wouldn't it put the person you pay when you exit on the wrong side of the car. Not thinking clearly were they! TFS all the cool info - my excitement level is rising quickly.
ReplyDeleteCIndy Ferenz
I had NO CLUE what was wrong with it - coz I drive on the left all the time!! lol So it looked perfectly normal to me!
ReplyDeleteJenny
ummm....there's no catalog on the ground for a little sneak peek?!?!
ReplyDeletereally appreciate you giving updates and all while you are at leadership!!
cassie
casslarson at suddenlink dot net
And (Duh - why didn't I see this before?) The stop sign looks like it's on the lane that's going away from it!
ReplyDeleteUnless you're in England instead of Florida, the lanes are on the wrong side! How confusing is this?
ReplyDeleteHope you are having fun! Thanks for the pictures and for letting me live vicariously!
janet@swofford.com
LOL! The lanes are on the left side! I can only imagine the hijinks that ensue every time someone new tries to drive there! LOL
ReplyDeletethe double yellow lines....like who is needs to know there is no passing in the car garage.
ReplyDeleteArrows are going "wrong way" Wierd - are you SURE you're in Florida?
ReplyDeletethe arrows point away from the stop sign, yet those lanes are leading you to the stop sign. Weird!
ReplyDeleteeLLen
Thanks for all the info! Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteThe arrows seem to be pointing the wrong direction...
IF you've had a few too many it might be just fine for you! Ha! Jolly Good Show, Kydia! Someone just told me about your blog today, and I have to say, "YOU GO GIRL"!! What a spirit and amazing outlook on life! Hope to meet up with you some day soon...from Cedar Park, via Wisconsin. Enjoy your new SU goodies, and keep us all in the loop or looped up??. Hugs, Mona
ReplyDeleteCan't thank you enough for the teasers...Think I might just raid the kids piggy banks to get my hands on all these really wonderful stamps & papers!!
ReplyDeleteWell be safe...and don't drive on the wrong side of the road...unless your coming & going here! LOL!!
Travel safely my dear.
