Well, in season for y'all. Here's it's still summer.
But it helps me enjoy things in real time if I'm not doing Christmas cards in July and if I can fill October with autumnal splendor.
The natural color combos are the ones I reach for anyway - piercing blues and hot oranges.
Well my friend Lori has enabled me into a new coloring medium that I'm absolutely freaking out about - these brush markers.
These are really unique - the ink flows supremely well through a porous point nib that reminds me of a Copic nib. They are so incredibly juicy and intensely pigmented, as you can see.
My favorite way to color with these is to scribble a darker color on my craft mat, and then take the lighter of two colors and pick up that darker color with the lighter marker, and then color from a dark area to a light area, like on the mushrooms until the lighter color is pure again!
It's amazing! I love them so much. Now I need them allllll!
This image is from Suzy's fall cards, which are great, as usual. I color these in front of the TV at night purely for relaxation - I rarely blog them. But I loved two of the ones I did so much one I thought I'd share.
If you purchase these cards, come back on Friday for another one with the same markers!

I also have a Life Favorites site to share with you today! (Plus a discount!)
I was on Facebook and an ad came up for the CUTEST stuff I've ever seen from this store - Kawaii Pen Shop. It was very hard for me to exercise self control with their washi tapes, adorable stickers and overall cuteness. These are some of the things I bought.
These fun & funky sticky notes:
These GORGEOUS layered sticky notes that are die-cut:
This gorgeous set of washi tapes called Blue World:
They even have adorable wood stamps, which I also bought and will be making cards with. Everything is super reasonably priced. Had I discovered this site as a child, I would have lost my mind. Everything I took to school would be covered with kitty stickers for DAYS. :)
I asked them if they would share a coupon code with all of you, and to my delight, they said yes!
So if you shop there, you can use code understandblue for 10% off your order!
Go forth and find cuteness.

I like your fun mushroom piece! Thanks for the tip on how you add several shades with the markers. I have a few of these cards, but haven't colored or inked them yet. You have inspired me to first find where in the world I put them!, and then get busy. :)
ReplyDeleteI was a self proclaimed Hello Kitty addict in school, so that website would have caused me to short circuit! Cuteness overload! Thank you for the link and discount code.
I also want to thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving such a kind comment about my card project. That was very nice of you!
Enjoy your day!
