But because I'm a Gel Press printing freak, these inexpensive tools are something you can't have too many of.
I also can't create in groups, so when I go to retreats, my favorite way to "craft" is to bring brushes and stencils and create backgrounds for future cards. I don't have to concentrate and miss any fun conversations but I can also be productive.
As the holidays draw near, I am trying to focus on those cards so that I have enough to send this year. I took last year off, and I'm excited to send them this year, so I'm trying some old favorite techniques, one of which is simple stencil layering.
I used Key Lime and Innocent Pink inks, my Life Changing Blender Brushes with this happy new stencil that passes for either holiday or just botanical imagery. The little hint of evergreen and the modern poinsettia style flower work perfectly here, but I can see this as an all year stencil. I sprayed Pixie Spray on the back of it and added the first layer in Key Lime. Then I just shifted it and repeated the process with pink.
It makes for a happy and bright, light pattern behind this glamorous Happy Holidays die, which I cut out of no-shed glitter paper. So quick & fun. The snowflake comes with the die.
