So stay tuned after my card details to see my prize and how you can win it, along with a long list of other bloggers and companies doing gratitude giveaways tonight. This hop isn't sponsored or paid - it's just a bunch of people saying thank you in their own way.
If you're NOT a blogger, please know how much I look forward to the notification that I have a comment on my blog. It's absolutely the high point of each day to think that someone took the time to stop by here, read and interact with me. It's internet magic.
And even if you don't comment - just your eyes on my little cards is a gift to me, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I needed a little down time during the holidays - I didn't get much this year, and so I thought I'd watercolor an image I bought this summer but haven't used yet - this stunning stamp.
Fun fact - their stamps are white rubber, and the rubber is sparkly. It's the little things.
Anyway, their packaging has a colored version of the stamp image, and I loved theirs so much that I really just recreated it. First, I stamped it in Fadeout Ink, and then I watercolored it with Daniel Smith Watercolor.
It looks like it's stamped in black ink, right? But look at the moon - it's not!
After it was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolor, I took this teeny weeny paintbrush and added what looks like black details with Payne's Grey. I had just received this STUNNING Fox watercolor palette from this Etsy shop and it was perfect for mixing the right saturation of Payne's Grey plus it made me happy to look at. I'll show you other palettes from her shop below. But without this tiny brush I couldn't have made it look so precise.
The sentiment is from this set, and it's stamped in my MISTI in Nocturne.

So here are just two of these stunning handmade palettes. I love mine SO much. First - the turtle.
Now - the fox.
Her products are packaged beautifully, with postcards featuring some Instagram users' watercolor paintings that are just beautiful. She ships fast and you get beautiful Russian postage stamps on your package. So happy that this was part of my 2018.
If you love watercolor - consider joining my Daniel Smith Watercolor Split Group on Facebook. I split tubes of Daniel Smith Watercolor so that cardmakers can afford to have the highest quality artist watercolors for a very reasonable price. Just one tip - you need to answer all three questions when you click to join or I can't approve you. International members welcome - just please note that international shipping is not included in the split price, but US shipping is. Here's what a typical split looks like - I have the entire Daniel Smith line grouped into eight "splits" - if you get all 8 you'll have the full line for about 20% of the price you'd pay buying full tubes. So join us!
Now if you're here for the Seasons Givings blog hop - WELCOME! You have the opportunity to win lots of prizes, including here at my blog.
I will be giving one lucky reader this STUNNING stamp & die bundle from one of my favorite humans - Gina K. This is a gorgeous layering floral that's an all-year set and you will get that and the matching dies. Gina has been in my life for more than ten years now, and I'm grateful for her friendship, generosity and outstanding sense of humor. It's people like this that make our industry unique, and I encourage you if you're not already a customer to shop with this awesome small business woman - in person at her retail store in Wisconsin, or on her website. Here's what the bundle looks like:
For your chance to win this bundle, leave me a comment telling me what you're looking forward to in 2019 - with your crafting, your personal life, trips you're taking - anything goes!
I will post the winner on Friday the 4th. You can be in the US or international - this is a thank you gift, so no restrictions. Thank you for being here.
Now speaking of ten years of things - my friends at Stamp 'n Storage are celebrating their ten year anniversary with a SALE. Thanks for being here, and all my wishes for a safe, healthy and peaceful New Year. I'm grateful for you.
Loveyameanitbye.
I’m very happy to have stopped by your blog during this hop! Thanks for sharing with us. In 2019 I’m looking forward to growing closer to Jesus through prayer and Bible study and I’m also very excited to begin building my brand on social media. I’m anxious to see how God will change me through the crafty community! God bless!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. This image looks so calm and peaceful...wonderful. I wish for 2019 to be happy and healthy for my family and also for me to have the confidence to try new crafty things without worrying about the results.

ReplyDeleteI’m a huge Gina K. Fan and love that stamp set, it’s beautiful. I’m looking forward to a lot of things in 2019. I get to see my grandsons in March here in California, nice surprise their coming on vacation from Michigan. One is 6 and the other will be 5 in a couple of days. We’re having a big birthday bash with family and friends in January. Really looking forward to seeing everyone. It just goes on an and on. Lol
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! 🥳
Adorable palettes! Love them. I am looking forward to more time spent camping with my kids this summer. We bought our first travel trailer last year and because it was an unplanned purchase, didn't go out as much as we wanted. I can't wait to start planning the next adventure and seeing the happy faces of my kids enjoy the outdoors as a family.
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to make more a lot more cards & to send every single one out to someone I love!! ❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Lydia! Every year I say I'm going to try my hand at watercoloring. I honestly think it's an inborn talent but there's no harm in trying right??
ReplyDeleteI love watercolors and that is simply beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY NEW YEAR! May 2019 be filled with peace, joy, prosperity & comfort for you. I love your watercolor card. Any scenes of the ocean, lakes or water bring me such a sense of peace.
ReplyDeleteI've been coming to your blog for many years now. I came here initially for the stamping & card making. I quickly found your blog posts filled with so much more - uncommon sense, wit, humor, compassion & incredible talent. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself here. I look forward to starting my days here my with you & a cup of coffee.
Be kind to yourself.
Happy New Year my friend, Lydia! Wishing all of us a wonderful 2019, filled with crafty arty awesome days and moments. I just love the mini harbor in the set you used. For 2019 I wish to continue my journey with coloring medias. As you know I have stamp pads, Copics, added Colored Pencils in 2018 and for Christmas I was gifted with the Derwent Inktense Watercolor pencils. We used them in your class and I was instantly intrigued. (maybe one day I will venture into the DS colors). So , for me its color, bold, bright, subtle, subdued, pastel, maybe even some garish ? Now to use your awesome tagline, Loveyameanitbye. :) Gail .
ReplyDeleteYour project is amazing! Always love your work.
ReplyDelete2019 is going to be so much fun with a pending tropical vaca and my youngest graduating from college, doesn't get much better than that :)
wow, absolutely amazing watercolor Lydia, Happy New Year to you
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, this new year I have set any expectations but are hopeful for great things with my family and my lif.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! I look forward to being enticed to buy and create just from reading what you write. It’s always a great way to start off my day:)
ReplyDeleteI look forward to more peace in my family. My two sons have not spoke to each other since Mothers Day of last year. My youngest made a terrible mistake and my oldest made it 20 times worse. It's not because they don't want to now, it's because of a court order. We missed out on so many family events, including my 60th birthday party. I'm hoping things will be resolved this year and hard feelings will be dissolved.
ReplyDeleteI love this card! Could I learn to watercolor like you in 2019?! I do hope to to craft more - whatever form it takes! And that turtle palette is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to doe d more time with my card making friends...so many wonderful and talented friends, including you; plus, I want to exercise more and lose some weight!
ReplyDeleteLove your gorgeous card. The boats look so cheerful! 2018 has been rather rough. I am really looking at 2019 being much better. On the crafting front, I just cleared my Level 2 of the Altenew Educator Certification Program. It has taken me a year to reach here and the road has been far from smooth. But my patience and persistence has paid off. We are also planning a big move, from a huge metro city to a smaller town. It is scary. But a better decision for our family, I hope.
ReplyDeleteWe are taking a family cruise in March and I am so excited for it!
ReplyDeleteI am hoping that this year I can Find Myself! I was an art student many moons ago and sadly never got to finish & receive my degree, but had aspired to be a computer graphics artist when it was a brand new industry. I was able to attend the Corcoran School of Art for a short time and after 2 miscarriages I discovered I was pregnant so I became a SAHM (eventually w/4 kids) so many of my artist endeavors were put aside because Life got in the way ☹️ I did discover a love for papercrafting, especially stamping, that did give me a creative outlet, and something I still dearly love, but I want to start watercoloring more! I am convinced that the old me I vaguely remember is still in there somewhere and I am determined to find her before I get to old to enjoy my love of all things art related!!! 😊
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and thank you for offering such a wonderful prize! I am a pretty serious gardener so I always look forward to the start of the season...which is a long way off. We are under a foot of snow where I live. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your blog posts like candy, or bacon. Your wisdom and humor are endlessly entertaining, and your art work is sublime. I often don’t know if it’s better to leave my comment on your blog, or on your fb page, or both, so I flip flop back and forth. I don’t like leaving either one nekkid. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI love visiting your blog, I may not always comment but I am always here. You are an amazing person and artist and when I grow up I want to be like you 🤣
ReplyDeleteI Look forward to spending time with my crafty friends in 2919
Looking forward to watercoloring more ... and more travel
ReplyDeleteI’m looking forward to just doing. Last year was a year of “watching” . This year I’m going to make it a year of doing. No more spectating! Love your card by the way! That sentiment resonates with me!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to focusing on each project before beginning the next one in 2019. With limited crafting space, it is a necessity and should bring me more joy in the long run. I always learn something new when I visit your blog! Love your work! Thanks for sharing your creativity with all of us! Follow me at http://afourthlife.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for an AMAZING year of inspiration! This year, for 2019, I have really been inspired in a large part, by YOU! I have been really paying attention to your watercolor paintings of stamped images, so I just bought a wonderful design that I fell in love with from the moment I first saw it, Holiday Thanks bundle! It just arrived in the mail yesterday! So, I am really looking forward to doing a lot more watercoloring of stamped images! It creates such a pretty look!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Hugs!

Your painting is gorgeous! I am so glad you have had some time to paint. The fox and turtle palettes are SO cute! I am looking forward to my daughter graduating high school and all the changes that will bring. I am also looking forward to growing in my art abilities! Hugs and happy new year!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always Lydia. Such a beautiful image to watercolour too and the sentiment says it all. I am loving the palette's, how fun are those especially compared to my boring ones! Hugs to you
ReplyDeletePinned your pretty card! And last night, just before midnight, my husband and I, and our rescue Stella, strolled through the freshly fallen snow in our neighborhood, so beautiful! Great advice you have given to all! It was a wonderful way to start a new year!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to my new volunteer position at the thrift store and food pantry. It feels so good to help others and makes my life a little brighter to help someone else.
ReplyDeleteLydia, I'm looking forward to being a better artist! Also, i have one daughter graduating from high school this year. My other daughter is getting married this year. It will be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIn 2019 my goal is to spend more time crafting
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to a productive year in my newly organised craft space.

Happy New Year mf. I have thought of you so many times over the holidays and with the recent loss of your Dad, how hard it must have been for you and your family. Firsts are always the worst.
ReplyDeleteI do so enjoy coming here for a visit. I love seeing what you are up too and your little doses of humour make me smile.
For the New Year, I need to make myself drink more water. I'm terrible for remembering to do that, chasing after my little daycare kiddos keeps me too busy I just forget. I'm hoping to get my knees working a bit better for the New Year too, maybe all the water I plan on drinking is going to help.
Take care mf....looking forward to being inspired by you in the upcoming year.
xx Karen
I look forward to teaching my 4 year old granddaughter more stamping!
ReplyDeleteLydia, that card is stunning. Truly. And those palettes! Heading straight over to her shop, that's for sure! I have some exciting changes coming this year, the first of which is (hopefully) a new job! I am looking forward to diving into a new adventure with a new company soon! Happy New Year!

ReplyDeleteI love your cards, Lydia, and this is no exception, beautiful in meaning and beautiful to look at. I love the joy you have and spread in your crafting, and the way you want to help others on that same path. 2019 - these are not resolutions, just goals, because if we aim at nothing, we’ll hit it - looking forward to having more people in my home and at my table. Looking forward to praying more spontaneously with people. And looking forward to learning some new things, starting with a course in photography in a few weeks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I look forward to a successful 2nd semester with my middle school students, a summer filled with friends by the pool and many trips to the local amusement park and just relaxing. Of course always hoping for good classes next fall as I have this year.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to leaving this Friday to head to Florida for the winter. I will be taking my scrapbooking things to make a "First Year Scrapbook" for my second grandson born in February.
ReplyDeleteI love your gorgeous card! I am looking forward to achieving my crafty goals in 2019, which are (1) make holiday cards all year long (at least two per month); (2) re-organize my dies; and (3) create ink swatches for my Distress Inks and Distress Oxides. Thank you for the awesome inspiration and I look forward to more! Happy 2019 to you!
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to try more things. I love the colors and have to get over the feeling of I cant do this!
ReplyDeleteHopefully I will be taking a trip in February to see my BFF. I'm really looking forward to seeing her. Thank you for all your lovely inspiration you share with us.
ReplyDeleteFor 2019 I want to make a lot more cards and albums. I just moved over to the coast so this set is right up my alley. I want to learn a lot more multimedia techniques as well this year.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to more time spent with my out-of-the-home sons, especially some small trips in and out of state. Thanks for participating in the blog hop.
ReplyDeleteSo excited for 2019. Both my boys graduate from college, my husband is retiring, we are going on a 10 day cruise at Christmas with my boys and their girlfriends and I am opening my second real estate office in Melbourne, Florida. Lots of great things on the horizon.
ReplyDeleteMy goals for 2019 are to be more purposeful this year--by stretching my creativity in stamping!
ReplyDeleteLove the beautiful watercoloring and the palettes! I would love to get better at my watercoloring!
ReplyDeleteI’m looking forward to organizing my craft room. It is a disaster zone after Christmas card making and now I need to make 5 January birthday cards and finding a clear spot to work is going to be difficult. I also always look forward to any time I can spend with my teenage grandsons. They have grown up so fast I cherish each moment with them
ReplyDeleteOh I love your card Lydia. Being from the Maritime's in Nova Scotia we see lots of light houses and boats so I love seeing how you painted this scene. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to getting some serious crafting in in these next few months. I find I am home alone a lot in the winter so it gives me time to create and as much or as little as I want. Plus, my crafty friends like to come and craft with me and we enjoy it immensely. I am also looking forward to a trip my husband and I are taking with our son & DIL in the spring for our 40th Anniversary. Hopefully this will be an amazing year.
Happy New Year to you Lydia and thanks for the chance to win.
In 2019 I'm looking forward to cleaning out and getting more organized... I know I know... it's heard over and over...lol! But I know when I do I'll enjoy my home even more. I'd rather be in my craft room than anything else, but I know I'd enjoy it more if my space was less chaotic... While looking for some home movie dvd's over the weekend, the things I found that I have no idea why I've kept them!! So wish me luck! Happy New Year and thank you for the opportunity to win that beautiful Gina K set. She does create beautiful stamps.
That is a lovely card and sentiment. One thing I look forward to is actively using my crafting/creativity to help myself find peace and balance in my life. There unfortunately are some rather negative influences in my life that are quite disruptive - but I have come to realize that making something beautiful helps me to find that inner peace and I can use that to dispel those things I cannot control or need to ignore.
ReplyDeleteLove your palettes. Might as well have
ReplyDeletesomething fun, along with being useful.
I have some old palettes that were my

Happy New Year! I am looking forward to what this year holds, knowing God is with me thru the good & bad. Ms. Inkblot asked what our word is for the year that will motivate us. I chose Gratitude. Finding something to be thankful for in the darkest times will help me keep moving forward and to have joy & peace.
