Countdown to Sunflowers!

I hope you have an awesome Labor Day weekend lined up!

I made chili yesterday so the food plan is chili dogs! I will never not love a chili dog.

Here in CenTex, we have a beautiful wild sunflower called a Maximilian Sunflower - it's a prairie flower, and it's a yummy snack for wildlife. It has a smaller, more daisy-like feel than a midwestern sunflower - but they do grow taller than me, and are one of my favorite wildflowers here. I see a lot of them geocaching.

If you, too are a sunflower fan, then hold onto your hats for the Hero kit this month - it's a sunny beauty.

This is a peek of a layering stencil that comes in the kit - it's amazing. The word die is from the kit as well. I will have lots more cards for you when it all goes live on Tuesday, but I thought I'd do that thing I do with EVERY image - turn something blue that isn't normally blue! So nice to see florals and not a rush to Christmas. Now - I just have to figure out how to turn them into ZOMBIE flowers! :)

Hope you have a great holiday weekend.

Loveyameanitbye.

  7. Well, being that we are both fireborn, it's not a surprise that you coloured them blue to me. Love it! I so often want to colour floral images blue, then think, oh maybe I shouldn't. From now on I'm going with my love of blue if I feel led to. Thanks for that inspiration Lydia.

  10. Very pretty. The blue is a great variation. Those leaves are fantastic.

  11. Blue is a fun twist to the color scheme! I think zombie flowers would be wilted and brown with spider webs trailing over them. You could draw some droopy stems for them.

  14. The blue is an unexpected surprise, but beautiful. Living in WesTex I feel the blue is an appropriate substitution for the flower that grows abundantly here. Thanks for sharing!
