Here, sunflowers (specifically, our native sunflower) grow all year, so there's no season. But I love seeing them in stamp imagery late summer/early fall. As I've said before, my great grandmother lived on a sunflower farm, and used to embroider the sunflowers and crows she saw out her window at precisely this time of year in North Dakota.
This month, the new kit is sunflower themed, so I have some fun fall things for you today - and a video.
The kit has a stamp set of sunflowers that ALSO has a layering stencil set that matches it - so you can use them together! Plus layering word dies. You'll see the full thing in my video, but first, the card that took me literally 97,000 hours to complete after changing my mind a million times. It features the kit, Graphit, multiliners, Polychromos, Posca pens and time. I love the colors so much. I stamped it first in Contour Ink and then did a lot of no-line coloring with alcohol markers and detailing with colored pencil and black pen.
Here's the card you will see in the video with the stencils from the kit - ahh - aren't they pretty in blue?!
Now - on to the add-ons!! You KNOW I'm not done with Halloween, so these creepy scarecrow dies (complete with shoulder crow!) are my jam.
I cut the background cover plate branches die out of black cardstock and put that over an ink blended background. Then I cut the scarecrow out of watercolor paper and watercolored it all.
BUT WAIT - there's a CHIPPINK! "Chippink" was my first word - I saw one and yelled that out - in Canada when I was a wee tot. So fitting that I should now have a pet squirrel! I used this leaves stencil in the background and then stamped and die cut the layering chipmunk, adding lacquer to his eyes and the bottom of the acorn, and splattering gold ink all over the background. So cute. I wish we had chipmunks here - I guess they don't like being hot.
And finally - a stunning, layered pumpkin, which I just HAD to turn blue of course - my fall tradition!
Here are all the addons this month! Take note of the nice fall sentiment sets.

Okay so I'm SUPER excited to have found a ramen I love! Fresh ramen noodles and yummy broths - I've tried the miso and the spicy ramen and they are phenomenal! The only thing you need to know is that the broth instructions are off, in my opinion - they call for WAY too much water. I'd HALF the water for the broth - and that way it's perfect! I get this from my local Farmhouse Delivery, but hopefully you can find it near you! Here is their website - hopefully you can find someone near you that carries it. I noticed while looking around their site this morning that they have job openings in California and Hawaii, so there's that!
Anyway, I hope you can ease into your short week today. I hope it's a good one.

ReplyDeleteSo fun! I love that chipmunk!! So cute <3
ReplyDeleteEspecially love the Sunflower colors; very creative! The chipmunk is so cute. In our colder climate the chipmunks burrow down, so imagine my surprise upon parking on the driveway then seeing a fat cheek chipmunk pop out of the macadam. Lil bugger actually chewed through the thick driveway from underground. And not to mention when chubby cheeks chew through the soy based covered wires for the sprinkler system. Cost some $, but still love the little critters. Keep up the wonderful work!
