Today I revisited an old favorite technique on my Facebook live - faux tile! This is such a fun and easy technique. I will have the video in the next little while with some other samples. Today I thought I would try it with black, white and grey with this beautiful fall-themed set.
It's so beautiful here right now - we don't have "fall" like most of you do, but anything under 90 makes us giddy this time of year, and it's just been a gorgeous week.
For me, fall has an excitement about it that spring doesn't have. I guess I have a little TS Eliot in my brain - because while spring can be fun for a gardener like me, here, it means you're going to be sweating for the next ten months and getting bitten by bugs. So it's the reverse here - spring is an ENDING and fall is a beginning.
I never realized that before.
So here's to beginnings! After stamping the images from this stamp set on the background in black, I stamped one leaf in yellow, orange and red, and then added black dots. I glued that on top of the same image in black. The sentiment is from the same set, and I added some City Lights Sequins.

I'll be back with the video for this soon, with two alternate ways to finish it!

ReplyDeleteLike clelie, I can't wait for the video. I plan on using mid range blues to copy the look of the dutch tiles my grandmother had in here kitchen.
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning! I can’t wait to see how you did this. I love the pop of color in this mostly black and white card. I feel exactly the same about Fall and Spring!
