Whenever I feel a creative drought coming on I go back to these techniques and it always inspires me.
The same is true today! I had an inkling that the fun rainbow and metallic scratch paper for kids could be used with stamps, and then the perfect stamp arrived in the mail - a big solid floral with a matching die. It was just what I needed to try my idea.
So I set the stamp and the scratch paper up in my MISTI. (PS my coupon code for this paper is still good if you click here and use UnderstandBlue4 to get 10% off the whole site.)
Then I inked the stamp in Snowflake because the paper is a little slick and then wherever there was white ink - I scratched! So fun and relaxing. It helps to have a tight bristled brush to brush off the scratched off surface.
To use this fun, modern sentiment, it's easiest to die cut it first, then put it back into the negative space you cut and then stamp the sentiment on top of the die cut in your MISTI. It's so crisp.
The background paper and little strip are from this paper pack.
To show you how the rainbow design goes across the paper I used 3M Tape to mask off and scratch two stripes into the scratch paper. I die cut and stamped the sentiment again and added these white embellishments.
Next for something TOTALLY different, I used this stencil to create a Gel Press background for this gorgeous bold flower stamp. I loved the etched lines of it and so I just wanted to leave it black and white on a colorful background. The sentiment is from the same set. This stamp is so right up my alley
But you want to see the coolest thing about this bundle? There's a second die that lets you make the flower center 3D! Hard to see above but check this out. I die cut that, then flipped it onto my MISTI foam and rubbed the petals with a metal embossing stylus. It looks so cool in person. Also out today - from the kings of backgrounds - this sweet gingham background with that little stitched companion stamp. So I decided to make a faux Charlie Brown look. I used the new alphabet bundle for the greeting. It's such a clean and cute alphabet.
Now I feel like a real dingaling because I just realized this, but not only does Concord & 9th release on the 9th at 9 - but there are nine products! My hair is super pretty. They have a new, adorable turnabout bundle this month too, but I ran out of time. Look how cute it is - the popsicles fill in with different colors if you want, so you could make a bomb pop!Want a quick video on the first two cards? Wish granted! You'll also see how the metallic papers look.
