I did that in a rare few free moments last weekend and had so much fun making today's card. I don't like to let my stamps go unused for too long, but those pesky day jobs and life things just get in the way - so grab those moments as you can.
I wanted to do a smooshed background with the new Colorbox inks - they came out with new colors and I wanted to see them on paper. Since they are water reactive, smooshing is always my go-to.
I thought that a big bold image would stand up to what I intended to be a vibrant background, and this gorgeous fuchsia fit the bill. The reason I wanted this bundle is it's a trio - so it comes with a stencil for ink blending the images, as well as the stamps & dies. I love that.
So after smooshing the background I let that dry, and watercolored the flowers and leaves. On the flowers I used Tomato and Mulberry inks, and on the leaves, Moss, Bumble Bee and Tomato for coordination.
The dies for this set cut right up against the edge of the image too which is fabulous and gave me room for a larger sentiment, which I cut with this die pair in black and white. This was another purchase that I hadn't put to work yet.

What's in your stash that you haven't given any love to recently? Get that stuff out! Tell me what is getting dusty in your collection!
Loveyameanitbye.
I love fuchsias! I was so disappointed when I found out they didn't really grow well here. We had them all over in California. Pretty card! I may have to get that die/stamp/stencil set.
ReplyDeleteFuchias speak directly to my inner flower-loving spirit! Love this, Lydia!
