A Lady I Think is Amazing

My friend Jen del Muro is amazing.

She fought breast cancer like a BEAR over the last year, emerging victorious. She's one of the first people I met from Splitcoast many years ago at a big shoebox swap that used to be held in Dallas. She was so talented even in the way back days, and was an early Dirty Dozen design team member at Splitcoast that I oohed and aahed over. Like her personality, her design style is clean, sweet and sort of whimsical.

Talent like she has is destined to grow into something tangible, and her talent did - she ended up starting her own stamp company - Reverse Confetti, with designs that perfectly matched what I loved about her cards - they are sweet, clean and upbeat.

Even though we only live 3.5 hours apart, we hadn't seen each other much over the last few years - time flying by as it does, but I had so freaking much fun with her at a retreat this fall. She emerged from her treatments even prettier than she was before, rocking her new short locks like no other.

Here we are with Lori, having breakfast at First Watch in Cincinnati. Isn't she beautiful? I'd so have my hair like that if my giant head wouldn't make me look like an egg.

I just adore her and admire her so much. She kept her business open during her treatments, but scaled way back, and today we are hopping with her to celebrate her returning to her normal release schedule. What an accomplishment. My hat is off to you, my friend!

I thought it would be appropriate to make a card just for her for the hop, and her new release is absolute perfection for that. Because I do think she's amazing. I used the Kindness Cards stamp set and the Kindness Cards Confetti Cuts dies for my card, along with the Forever My Love 6x6 Paper Pad. These are cool because they are one sided, so you don't feel like you're wasting the pattern on the back. Neurotic, I know, but something papercrafters feel pain over. :)

I used my Jewel Picker to apply the gold glitter flakes that I LOVE with Matte Medium after it was all said and done.

Now I also have a quick video for you today with two amazing tips. One is a die cutting tip for linked dies, and the other is the AMAZING invisible vellum adhesive that I've been searching for like a Hobbit my whole stamping life. It's FANTASTIC. I used it to adhere the vellum onto the paper behind amazing above, and I used the die cutting tip to cut that word out.

So enjoy!

Now here are the rest of the hoppers today celebrating Jen & Reverse Confetti! Cheers to strong women everywhere!

  3. I love your short to the point videos, where I always learn something new! I did know about Chris Dayton's die tip, but I can't seem get in the habit of NOT cutting apart my dies; I think I've run across too many sets with "nested" dies. I do NEED that vellum tape! I have the same roll of 20 year old vellum tape, that of course shows, and is a sticky, yellowed mess...so I don't use my vellum.
