VIDEO: 3D Paper Piecing

Ready for a fun throwback today?

I revisited one of my favorite techniques this week - 3D paper piecing, which can trace its stamping roots back to traditional paper tole - here's an example of what that looks like. 

This is such a sweet and fun technique - and while it's hard to see in a straight on photo, you will see in my video how dimensional and fun it is in real life and what a unique look it is for any card. So much fun. 

Now the adhesive that is traditionally used for this is a very thick glue - you can find it here, but I love this clear dimensional tape as a substitute if the glue is hard to find. The bonus is no drying time! It comes in two sizes as well.

There's a kit that contains everything you need to do this technique - I was today years old when I learned this - that I will be buying - it has the mat, the embossers, good scissors - all of it. Nice. 

The sweet image I used is this darling little girl, and I wanted the balloon, the kitty and her arm to be popped up and rounded. So fun and easy - you'll see in the video.

The print in the background is a technique we did in the Gel Press workshop, which is still open for registration. The sentiment is a combo of this die and the matching sentiment set. The images were colored with Graphit (coupon in the footer) and Copic.
