As you know - I am obsessed with Scandinavian Design, and one of the background stamps from Simon Says Stamp's new Friendly Frolic release just spoke to my heart! I decided to do kind of a faux delft with the Folk Dance stamp, and so I masked off the top section of the card, and stamped the background in Blue Raspberry ink. The sentiment was stamped in Nocturne and is from this set, and of course I used my fave sequins that I almost never make a card without :). Poof - clean and simple card!

Next, I took one of my drunken acrylic reveal pieces, and die cut it with the new diamond pattern background die. This is such a fun die - looks like embossed sheet metal. The dies are the matching ones from this stamp set - I didn't want to interfere too much with that background. Those little dots are so fun. You can see my video for the background technique here.

For this background, I wanted to give the feeling of falling leaves, so I took the background stamp that has the same diamond pattern on it, and I just stamped once in Key Lime ink, rotated the cardstock, stamped again, and repeated it a third and fourth time.
Then I stamped the little terrarium from Plantiful Puns in Nocturne and cut it out to put on top. I love the randomness you can get from such an orderly pattern on the stamp.

So - in addition to the beautiful Folk Dance stamp with the Scandinavian design, there's also a background die and a stencil!
For a card with this beautiful die, I just took a piece of watercolor paper and sprayed it with water. Then I dropped Quinacridone Magenta, Hansa Yellow Medium and Turquoise Blue Hydrus liquid watercolor onto the wet paper, and then continued to spray water on it to move and blend the color.
After that dried, I covered it with a piece of white cardstock I had die cut with the Folk Dance die. The sentiment strip is cut down from a piece I die cut with these stitched strips dies. The sentiment is one of Cathy Zielske's new sets called Tabbed Sentiments - it's the CUTEST little all sentiment set that is good for cards, for scrapbooking, the outside of envelopes - awesome. And Cathy is just generally awesome, and I love everything she does.
