It's so grey and cold, y'all. And it has been for far too long. My friend Rebecca posted that we've officially made it through the darkest ten weeks though. So I guess there's that. It's a sheet of ice outside and I'm just trying to make it to Thursday when at least we can walk to the mailbox without getting a debilitating traumatic brain injury from falling on icy concrete!
Can you tell I'm not a winter person yet? Because I can make it clearer and more dramatic if I need to.
So I've been drawn to bright happy colors to combat the grey, and I realized when I was making a card that I would normally put a black sentiment on that I've never done a cheery yellow sentiment! So for this card, I started with the floral oversized club embossing folder, and then I used the little club floral dies, colored with OLO markers for three focal points on the left. They make sort of geometric terrariums and are so clean and crisp! And as I was reaching for the black cardstock with this thanks die, I was stopped in my tracks by the yellow flower, so I just cut it out of white and colored it to match! Why don't I do this more often? An eternal mystery, for sure.
There's some GREAT inspiration with these dies on this page - be sure and look at the symmetrical ones that look like a kaleidoscope! Amazing.
