Impossible is Just an Opinion

Happy Saturday - or Caturday, if you are a cat that reads my blog!

I'm here with a little sneak peek of the new Hero Arts kit! I'm SO excited because it's dreamy, surrealist kit with super fun and artsy images and sentiments - the sentiments especially grab me.

I LOVE surrealism - just before the pandemic started I bought myself and my sister this Dali cookbook. I never got a chance to peruse it - I might need to do that this weekend.

I studied those artists in college and loved the concepts behind the art. Since Magritte is a personal fave, I had to incorporate the little hat in the kit in my surreal scene. I masked the top 2/3 of the card and used this tutorial and the MIS-T ruler and multiliners to create the floor. Then I cut a mask with my circle infinity dies for the moon, masked the floor and brushed Navy ink all over the rest. I splattered it with a fan brush and white acrylic ink. Then I stamped and cut the door image (the clouds are part of the image) and colored it, and reflected some of that coloring onto the open door. Then I stamped, colored and cut the hat out and floated it in the open doorway. LOVE the sentiment from the kit, which I stamped on the moon.

I'll have a new video with the main kit on Monday and more cards! See you then! Stay warm.

Loveyameanitbye.

  1. Surrealism is one of the few "modern" art styles I like though I moved away from Dali being too grotesque for me, but Magritte is a fav for me too! I have one of his posters in my home. This is an excellent look in his style! The classic hat! :D I only just bought my first Hero kit recently with the city one. Might get this one too.

  5. Love everything about this card. The sentiment reminds me of something a young interviewee said many years ago: "impossible is just somebody making excuses"

  17. Should I be surprised that your card is so very unique Lydia? Nope! The floor just pops right off the card - love it. I'm going to view the tutorial for it. I'm not a fan of Dali due to the subject matter of a lot of his "art".
