Did you read Seabiscuit as a kid? There were a LOT of horse books in my childhood, including that and Black Beauty. I did take riding lessons as a kid - it was all just a big thing back then, horse culture.
I enjoyed the riding lessons, too. Anything with an animal involved was my jam.
I was playing around with this rainbow die to match up with the unicorn dies and I got up to feed Clarence while I was arranging the stripes on my card front and when I came back, the sideways card on my desk looked like a racetrack! So I turned my unicorn into Seabiscuit! The rainbow colors I used are Aqua Sky, Sprout, Buttercup, Grapefruit and Honeysuckle. I stamped the modular sentiment in Aqua Sky and Sprout. The banner die - the little end pieces are separate, so you can offset them and make the banner as 3D as you want. The unicorn - I know it's hard to see - is clear glitter paper, and the dies that cut out his mane, tail etc. are separate - I used this blue glitter cardstock for those. The stamps have a little face for him, but I was enamored with the die cuts by themselves!
I did a second unicorn, also in clear glitter paper, and used holographic cardstock for the extras. This sentiment is also modular, but I stamped both parts in black. These strips were leftover from the first card. You can get many multiples with this die.
This month they have all sorts of cool dies - I love the space-themed bundle. I decided to combine the larger planet stamp and die with the rings and cut the little shooting star tail from the same glitter paper I used on the first unicorn. The background was made with a watercolor pour - you can see my video for how I created this HERE.

These are super cute. All my friends were super in to horses too... especially when we were in late elementary early middle school years. One friend's dad had built shelves all around her room... and she had those plastic horses all around... It was never my thing, but I saw it. It was definitely a thing in the late 70s.
