At some point, much to my dismay, that was bulldozed and developed into something a lot less meaningful and peaceful.
At least I can remember that pond life!
I had so much fun recreating that feeling in today's video. This supremely adorable frog set was what I had in mind for my background, which I will teach you to create with liquid watercolor!
So much fun. I will be putting frogs on ALL THE THINGS.
I have a video on this SUPER fun background! Come back for more cards and one more video!
Next up in our pond exploration was critters. We had all sorts there - but none of the ones we have in Austin - no foxes or coyotes. That habitat was more snakey and less mammaly. I love our foxes, and there's a little pack that hangs around our neighborhood and has babies in my neighbor's yard. Somewhere there's a photo of one standing on the bench in my backyard.
For this card, I stamped this beautiful tree image and then die cut a circle with masking paper and put it on top of the image and ink blended some nighttime with Rocky Slope and Sapphire inks, leaving a little diagonal ray. I stamped and die cut and colored the fox from this set, making a little moonglow with a blue Graphit marker (coupon at the end of this post) on one side.
I could only stay away from the frogs for a second! Now even though I shook this shaker card a million times so you could see the tiny clay frog faces in this shaker mix, I can't see any fully in the photo (there's one eye to the left of the F in Face), but they are so cute, and you can see them here. The sentiment is a combo of this fun new word topper die and the matching sentiment set. I chose the frog with the stripey prison pants. This cracks me up!
I love the beautiful new Scorpio girl - this whole series is so fun. I colored her with Graphit and then for the background I used a gel print, and put the Lilypad Stencil over it and applied gold paper Glaze. The greeting is from Fancy Sentiments.
I saved CLARENCE for last! :) These tiny squirrels are amazing and so perfect for a week where Clarence's two babies came by for a visit. I have a video below on this background, but it was made with the brick wall stencil, orange and gold paper glazes. The die is the Hello Word Topper and the sentiment is from the matching set.
I have a video on this background as well!

That masking tape technique reminds me of some art class projects from years ago. But using different shades of ink really takes it to a whole new level. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI loved that masking tape card and had to get those frogs❤️❤️❤️ Could I use splash inks or other liquid acrylic inks for the technique?
