Happy Monday! I'm back again with a video for you on simple ombre inking with this month's My Monthly Hero Kit.
The whole release is a modern, geometric style, and the animals in the kit are delighfully funky and angular.
I did a no-waste technique to get two cards from the technique in the video - originally I was going to line the three fish up vertically that I created for the video, but I felt like I needed a bit more white space behind the fish, so I cut a circle out of the background I made with my infinity dies and put one fish into the opening. That left me with a cute, stenciled circle that I could use for the second fish and both were PERFECT for that sentiment! I used this stencil with two inks, and then created a little ray of light by darkening the sides and bottom with Indigo. The other ink on the stenciled portion is Splash. Such cute fishies.

Here is what the main kit looks like. ADORABLE CRITTERS! The stencils are designed to overlap.
So cute right? Here's my video of the process! Click here if you don't see a video player below. Come back for a giveaway and some info about my journal class!
Here's my other card with the main kit - I LOVE the animals in this set. The way he's looking over his shoulder is so wistful - it reminds me of this fox image. It's like he heard something in the woods. I used the Scandinavian style elements, so I used those for the background. I created the card base pattern with the stencil from the kit.
My journal class opened this weekend and it was a huge hit! It's open for registration - so you didn't miss out. And in SUPER exciting news, my friends at CC have set up journal insert bundles for my students! So you don't even have to cut and score your own - it's all done for you here! So if you're going to take the class, grab either the watercolor or the regular inserts here.
Here are all the supplies I used today, and the giveaway info is below!
