I played around a bit last weekend with cool versus warm greys with just a pop of color and I really liked it! This adorable set has all the cats facing away from you, which - let's face it - that's typical - and I love their artistic shapes and the stacks of books. So I die cut the main image with the matching dies four times and then just replaced three of the cats, gluing them over the top of the kitty that's part of the image - on my card that's the second kitty, but you can barely tell! I love it so much! The sentiment is part of this set and it has matching dies.
Living in Monarch country, I had to try something with this beautiful new stencil. I ink blended the orange and yellow areas through the stencil, but then I used my Copic brush multiliner to color the white areas black! I was squeeing a bit when I started to see how it looked - so dramatic.
Then I found out that the circle die from the scalloped frame dies set cuts out the butterfly insert die with that teeny border AND cuts a little ring too - I thought about cutting a second ring in orange or yellow but I ended up just piecing the ring it cut back in, lining up the stripes - but it does open up some possibilities for bordering that butterfly insert die! The sentiment is from the same set and dies as above. The sequins are from this mix.
I missed the Mars thing because I was freezing to death in my house with no running water, but if I had not been - I so would have made this card! This image is so joyful and fun! I blended Distress Oxides after masking the image, then spattered it with both water and pen white ink for a galaxy.
Omitting is such a simple way to make a clean & simple card. This floral image is from a large, round wreath - and would be a dream to color, but I wanted a more subdued, vintagey look, so I just used part of the image at the top of the card - it has a bunch of different kinds of flowers like a floral arrangement and I thought it had a fun antique vibe. Then I took a slimline sentiment die and used it stacked instead on an A2 card just in black for simplicity. I think this flower image would make pretty wedding cards or invites.

In other news, I don't know if it was the meteor or what, but my cats have been TERRIBLE for the past few nights and I am so tired.
Just constant fighting and meowing and weirdness. It's not even the full moon so I have no clue what is happening, but I don't like it. I'm glad I don't operate heavy machinery at work because I would be a danger to myself and others, that's for sure.
I'm sending off my Summer Camp projects today - are you all signed up? If so, I hope you get sorted into my cabin, because there's a few fun surprises ahead!
Loveyameanitbye.
