What day is it?
No - really - what day is it?
Before my Facebook Live today, I needed a zen activity, because work has been insane. This week and the weeks prior have brought many technical difficulties, and I need a break from those with art. So, since I never take a lunch break - I'm in that bad habit of eating at my desk while I work, I took a break today and made a card.
I used a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock, and used an old gift card to scrape quinacridone magenta, gold, orange and yellow paint across it.
I let that dry, and then die cut it with this stunning hibiscus die. I also used the die to cut into a kraft card base, and I cut a piece of white cardstock with it.
I pieced the white die cut into the negative space I cut into the card base, and then pieced the painted pieces in. I love that this beautiful die covers a whole card front. So perfect for simple and quick cards.
I added some sequins and the sentiment from this set. I know exactly who I will be sending this to. :)

What did you get up to this weekend?
I had my supposed-to-be retreat virtually and it was really fun, if not the same as real life. It was good to hear and see familiar people.
Every day it seems like I have to ask what day it is.
The good news is - Saturday is coming. :)
Loveyameanitbye.

Gorgeous card
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love hibiscus! I'll be adding that die to my wish list so your work here is done! I hope you are able to take more breaks to do what you love! And hooray for the weekends!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful, Lydia! It looks like Simon Says Stamp hit it out of the park again with their new release. I'm glad you found some time to take a little break to make this amazing card. Try not to work so hard and take a little extra time for yourself when you can :-)
