VIDEO: Snarky Collage Style Card

I have a super easy and fun collage style card for you today! And a peanut noodle update, but first things first!

I fell in love with this prickly pear image when I saw it - I knew it was going to be great for no-line watercolor, and I was right! The shape is so fun to paint as you'll see in the video - I did it with the gray split from my Daniel Smith split group. The background and flowers are pink, yellow and orange neon watercolor with a fun trick you'll see in the video. The little mark making stamps are from this stamp collection. I used a date stamp like I do on my art journal pages.

The snarky sentiment strip is from this package. There are lots more snarky and non snarky strips, foiled ones etc. in my bujo link in the coupon section below. I find myself reaching for these more these days. Old age? HUSH. :)

So there was a place in town called Bento Picnic that I adored. True story - I've never been there. As you know I haven't grocery shopped in many, many years, and they were more of a store and catering operation than a restaurant - or were when I started shopping there via Farmhouse. They made these incredible prepared meals, which is not something I normally even buy, so that tells you how good they are, and when I first figured out I had a dairy allergy, their vegan meals were SOOOOO delicious.

My favorite was this box that had cold sesame soba noodles, tamagoyaki (Japanese sweet rolled omelette - it sounds weird if you've never had a sweet egg dish but it's SO good), and crispy pickled veggies - radishes, cabbage etc. The combo is amazing and the whole thing is cold, which is always welcome here in Texas.

Anyway this week I tried something similar. I made my favorite cold peanut noodles, pickled some cabbage and tried making my own tamagoyaki. LET ME TELL YOU the tamagoyaki is HARD. I've watched a ton of videos on it and oof - I need practice. But I can tell you that the recipe I tried was PERFECT on taste. I just need technique practice on it. I will tell you literally no recipe gets the stove temperature right - you really just have to know your stove. Don't take "medium" to mean literally anything. 😂

We got a NICE rain today so I'm hoping my new plants have a great headstart on life now.

Hope you have a fun weekend lined up. My plan is taxes. 😑 BUT - if I get done, I'm free for my teaching duties at the Spring Stamp-along the following weekend!

Loveyameanitbye.
