Big Bold Birthday + Coupon Code

This was going to be the year I really kicked it into high gear in the birthday card mailing department.

It's not like I don't have the supplies, after all.

But it's amazing how little control any of us have over what our plans are, really.

The good news is, I have made a stash of both birthday and Christmas cards this year that I CAN mail when my schedule permits, so watch out, birthday people! Incoming!

I was lucky enough to have met Amy, the owner of The Stamp Market, in another life, and I was tickled pink when she struck out on her own. She's such a sweet person, and her style is very clean and appealing to me.

So our Crafty Friends just because focus this month is Amy.

I had done a little retail therapy in her store this fall, but hadn't had a chance to use what I bought until I got back in town a few weeks ago. I fell hard in love with her bold birthday die, because y'all know how much I love die cut inlay with bold dies. I did the never-ending thing - where after I cut it a few times, I used the parts and pieces to make several cards.

First, I cut a piece of Key Lime. Into the negative spaces, I took the positives from another piece I cut from white cardstock, and mounted that on a white card base for an all one-layer clean and simple birthday card. So quick if you're rushing out to a birthday party!
Now here's a blast from the past! Remember this video?

Well would you believe I still have some of those samples in my UFO pile? (UFO = Unfinished Objects.) It's true - I do.

One of the samples I had done on a blank sheet of canvas, and I loved the texture in the background. It took some courage to die cut that piece, but I did! I didn't paper piece this one - the white showing through is the card base. But I did glue back in the pieces on the B, the R and the A.
The leftover letters were too pretty to throw away, so on the piece that I cut the white letters out of on my first card, I pieced the canvas letters into it for a second all one layer card. Such a fun die. It would be great with the eclipse technique too.
Stay tuned below for a coupon for 20% off this die or whatever catches your eye at Amy's shop! Discount is good through tomorrow. See the graphic for details.

  1. Looks like you had a great time playing with those dies, and several lucky people are going to get Lydia originals :)

  2. Beautiful! They are all striking. The last one is really something with all the white surrounding those gorgeous letters.

  3. Such fun. I agree that the last is my fave. All of the colors on the letters really stand out.
