I Love You For What's on the Inside

Did you know that there's actually an article in the British medical journal the Lancet about a REAL LIFE ZOMBIE?? OR THREE?

It's true. Sadly, you have to pay to read the article, which I'm not going to do, because I'm just making a Halloween card, but if you want to, you can do so here.

I love zombie stamps, and I love zombiefying non-zombie stamps, which I've done many times.

So I was tickled pink to see this set when I was looking for what I was going to use when I teach at Stamp Joy next month - are you coming?

We aren't creating zombie cards at Stamp Joy, but this might have snuck into my cart while I was shopping for class supplies. SO CUTE!! And the sentiment! I DIE. #seewhatIdidthere

I'm so committed to Halloween cards this year it's not even funny. Here's proof.

I colored them with Copics after stamping them with Amalgam Ink. This set does have matching dies.

Watercolor Marker Refills Three Ways + Giveaway

I have a giant problem with watercolor mediums. And by that I mean I'm running out of room for all the ones I want. 

I love nothing more than I love a refill for a product I have, and Altenew came out with refills for their watercolor brush markers, so I thought I'd challenge myself to do anything but refill the markers with them. They are so saturated and they match the inks so perfectly, it's fun to mix and mingle them. 

First up - a card just using the refills on my craft mat and a water brush. I used this stamp set with the  Rubellite, Rouge, Ruby Red, Limeade and Lime refills after stamping these in Fadeout Ink. The sentiment is from the same set.

But using exactly the same watercolor refill colors mixed with white acrylic paint, I got a totally different result! I love the range of color I got. The sentiment is again from the same set. 

The refills are also great for ink smooshing though. I did these to show you how closely they coordinate with their inks! I stamped the bird from this set multiple times in Purple Wine, to darken the layering pieces of the bird, and then stamped the head in Lagoon. I used those same refills in the background to pull it all together. The sentiment is from this set as well. I dropped the refill on my craft mat and then sprayed it with a mix of water and Perfect Pearls before dipping my watercolor paper into it to pick it up - you can see a bit of the shimmer.

 I did the same thing with the leftovers on my craft mat and used this beautiful sort of baroque set for a design element. The sentiment is from here.
