I'm an unapologetic child of the 80s. I had ALL the neon things, and in this uncertain time, I'd still trade you a pound of bacon for anything neon.
So when they came out with neons in my favorite marker line (see the end of this post for a discount code) I squeed.
What's great about neons is they are amazing for creating highlights, and as I've done today - for underpainting.
Y'all already know how much I love sunflowers, so this mega sunflower is not only my jam, it's so perfect for neon underpainting. So I underpainted this entire flower with neons, and then toned some down with non neon colors. Oh my gosh so fun.
While Andrea Bocelli was singing on Easter, I did the blue glow, and I honestly think I'll remember that for the rest of my life.
Then, I used the neons to underpaint these AMAZING strawberries - what do you think?
Finally - I used this fun wildflower silhouette to sort of paper piece a gel press print onto a stamped image on a white cardbase,
