I think most of us were won over to stamping with embossing powder, right? That first, magical melt into shiny gold magic? The very first time I embossed is hard coded into my brain. My mom and I got embossing powder and a chili pepper stamp at a craft store, and came home and embossed ON THE GAS STOVE! Heat guns weren't a thing! I was so addicted that I made all of our Christmas cards that year, embossing the peppers in gold on the stove and coloring the chiles red and green. It was magic.
So today is all about embossing! I'm hopping with the WOW and Picket Fence Studios teams today and I have a video for you with today's cards. Thank you to the reader who told me that my embedded videos aren't coming through in email - I will add a link to the video as well. I made a tweak that might fix it, so if you are an email subscriber, please let me know if today's video shows up as embedded - thank you!
First up - a super fun combo of Golden Rose Paper Glaze and two of my favorite WOW powders - the Fluorescent Tickled Pink and Earthtone Olive. You'll see the way I used these together in the video.
The stencil is this adorable retro lady stencil, and the sentiment is from this perfectly snarky set. I love the way the glaze bubbles and that you can see both the shimmer from the glaze and these embossed colors. I made this card live with my class group.
Then - in an old trick I learned in a class with Fred Mullett, I did his "dancing fish" technique to blend powders on this beautiful tree image. The hello die is here, and I used it on all three cards you'll see in the video. All embossing powders I used are listed below.
So ready to watch the video? Here is a link if you don't see the video player below! Stay tuned for giveaway info after the video and more inspiration!
