You know what today is? Hero Kit Day, silly wabbit!
This month has a bunch of fun holiday stamps and interactive dies, so it's really unique and different!
The main kit image is this cling background stamp with ornaments - it's gorgeous. BUT - what's super cool is the interactive die it comes with. This cuts out each ornament but leaves the top attached in an advent calendar style reveal. Also, three of the ornaments pop out of the stamp so you can omit them, or as I've done here, selectively stamp them. I stamped them in Unicorn ink, and then embossed them with white embossing powder after die cutting a piece of watercolor paper that I painted with Walnut Crystals, added Silk Salt to, and splattered with Hero Arts gold ink. I cut the sentiment from the gold paper from the DIY Ornaments add-on with this fancy sentiment die. Got intricate die cuts? Use my favorite new rub-on adhesive to adhere them - NO STICKY, STRINGY RESIDUE. And it's repositionable for a bit and then is permanent, so it's super forgiving.
I love the new metallic inks, BTW. They are opaque, super glittery and permanent. I'll have a video walk through of how I used all these dies at the end of this post along with a tip on how to use the Advent Calendar die to line up stamps.
If you thought I'd do a blog post without these ADORABLE critters, you'd have been wrong. These are an add-on, and I stamped them in Fadeout ink, watercolored them, and cut them out with their matching dies, after painting some hints of snow on the background. The sentiment is from this set, which is also an add-on, and also comes with matching dies. This month's release is all about HIBERNATION. I love that it comes with a winter crafting image.
In the video, you'll see a template I created for the advent calendar, and I ended up using that to frame out images both from the kit, and from my favorite elf set :)
Last, but not least - I LOVE the new background stamp! I used spot coloring on it - you can see my post about that here - and I used both the gold and the iridescent paper from the DIY Ornament kit to cut this Christmas sentiment and a strip to go behind it for a simple and quick Christmas card - BUT - it would make a great birthday card too.
Wonderful cards. Your really did the kit justice with all the different use of so many of the offerings. Have to say I laughed out loud when I got the last card, the fabulous boxes. How bright and cheery (and quick looking) was that!
You always have such great ideas. I'm not near as talented as you with your painting and coloring but this kit with the tiny images looks like a lot of fun to work with. Can't wait to get mine.
I love everything in this November kit! All you cards are fabulous Lydia. I especially like the one with the 4 little critters. Thanks for the chance to get my kit for free this month. I need $$ for a few of the extras.
Love all your ideas and designs. The little animals set was not one of my favorites, until I saw your card. These critters may have just found a home. Thanks for sharing.
