Happy New Year! I can't believe we are already here, but I'm very happy to be participating in one of my favorite blog hops of the year, so I'm glad you're here!
I thought I'd do a little crafty review of this year - so much has happened in our industry this year that's worth noting - I thought - why let the news channels have all the fun - we have a lot to celebrate in the stamping world!
- Jennifer McGuire's Share Handmade Kindness Campaign - This really is why we all stamp, and I love her for doing this - this really is what she is about - and it's a force for good in the crafty world.
- The year of watercolor - this was the year we went all crazy for Zig Clean Color Markers, Koi travel sets, Gansai Tambi Japanese watercolor and a million other H2O inspired mediums - like my beloved Brusho. I love this because watercolor is one of the most economical coloring mediums around, and the imperfect look is one of the things I love the most. If you haven't seen Dawn Woleslagle's watercolor - prepare to be in awe.
- The MISTI - technically this came out in 2014 - but it really took hold this year and became more widely available - I didn't get mine until this year, and it's changed my stamping life, for sure. Now that the MISTI Mini is available (pre-order) - I can tell you that I love the mini even more than the original - smaller footprint, good companion to the full sized MISTI when I have a multi-part project to set up.
- Periscope - I love the little crafty community on Periscope and the positive environment it is for crafters to spontaneously interact with each other, ask questions, and get to know each other in a more casual setting.
- They're baaacccckkkkk - a few oldies but goodies came roaring back this year: Shaker cards & sequins, string art & embroidery, gold and silver everything, and yes, coloring books (see below).I'm still holding out hope for that big stash of eyelets we all have. Don't pretend you don't have some.
- Punch board mania - the world gave us ALLLLL the punchboards - envelope, gift box, gift bag. I like that there seems to be a refocus on economical tools that help us use what we have in a new way.
- Coloring books - I LOVE this trend - it's sort of mainstreaming what we do on cards, and it's so fun. A few of my favorites include The Secret Garden - Artist Edition. This one is printed on thick cardstock, only on one side, and they can be pulled out for framing. I love this one from The Casual Artist - it has some Zentangle, which I love, but also whimsical and fanciful designs that just speak to me. For some bizarre reason, it's also available on Kindle, which cracks me up and makes me worry about people at the same time.
- Bright, beautiful new Distress Ink Colors - in my opinion the Color of the Year for 2015 was Blueprint Sketch. Don't even THINK about arguing with me about this - it is the unquestionable truth.
- The Curvy Keepsake Box Die - this has got to be one of the best dies ever made. People have done the most creative things with this die - look at this Pinterest board and look at these little animals.
I could go on - but it was a great crafty year. In addition to all this, I bet you had some great connections with crafty friends - online or in person, as did I. Can't wait to see what 2016 brings.
One of the things I know it's bringing is the new Occasions Mini catalog - and it's full of squee-worthy wonder. I've been sitting on this card for a while and I'm so happy to be able to finally post it, because I really had fun making it.
In addition to the supplies above, I used these Koi watercolors to paint the couple. I did a little video for you too - you can watch that here if you don't see the player below.
Now for the good stuff.
The purpose of this blog hope is simply to thank you - our stamping community for stopping by our blogs throughout the year. Every visit and every comment means so much to us - we love every interaction with each of you.
So thank you. I appreciate you so much.
Here are my thank you gifts, which three people can win by following the instructions below. You may comment until January 5th.
Second, I'm giving away TWO mystery boxes - these are large Flat Rate Boxes STUFFED with goodies. These will include assortments of stamps, ribbon, dies - all sorts of treasures! Each box will contain more than $50 worth of crafty goodness!
Here's what you have to do to win:
Comment on this post with ANY one of the following:
- Tell me something you'd like to learn in 2016 - anything - not necessarily craft related
- Tell me the name of your crafty BFF
- A crafty tip of some sort - anything that makes your crafting easier
- Tell me about your pets
- Share a favorite recipe
- Share a New Year's Resolution
- Share a wish for the year
Thank you again for just being here - and I wish you the best for your new year.
Please go through this list of amazing people participating - all of them have presents for you.

Loveyameanitbye.
Happy new year! I must disagree on the color of the year. It was cracked pistachio. My crafty BFF is Kathy W.
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is to stop hoarding my crafting supplies and send more cards out to people! Happy New Year! ohyoumademeink@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteOH my...what an amazing prize! Happy New Year and my favorite person to craft with is Joyce...she is amazing.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card! Love the video-as usual. My puppies- you know my puppies...My miracle puppy and my old lady..They're not that much different than your amazing kitties, except maybe a few DNA particles here and there...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab giveaway! Thanks!!! I am resolving to be more organized in 2016!! Happy New Year!!! shannavineyard@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Wow, your card is awesome and the prizes are so generous!! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI'll share a bit about my pets. They're pretty much like my little mini kids. I've got a nine year old peki-shnoodle named Rascal and a three year old chorkie named Tinkerbell. They bring so much joy to my life and make me laugh at their antics every day. Love 'em to pieces. :)
Amazing card Lydia! My wish for 2016 is to make time to enjoy and appreciate the little things in life. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHi - first off, Happy New Year. Second, thank you for just being you and making me smile. Third - my New Year resolution is to clear the lower shelves in my craft room to stop Gertie Rose (my teeny, tiny, Labradoodle) running off with things she thinks I've put on the 'dog shelf'. Or, maybe just remember to close the craft room door. Again, happy, happy NEW YEAR.
ReplyDeleteMy new year resolution are to eat and stay healthy, continue making layouts and mini albums.
ReplyDeleteI want to learn more crafts this year.
ReplyDeleteA crafty tip: Sponge acrylic paint with a sponge "wetted" with half a drop of glycerine. Looks like sponged distressed ink.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your review of the crafty year. My resolution is to use my 13 inch mountain of 6x6 pads. http://myperfectlifeuk.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/conquering-paper-mountain-my-project.html
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win. Happy New Year.
Wow, gorgeous card ... your colouring is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy crafty BFF is my sister-in-law Andrea ... she came round for a play one evening a few years ago and is now as addicted as me! If I was lucky enough to win your prize I'd share it with her :)
3, A crafty tip of some sort - anything that makes your crafting easier.. I discovered this tip from a crafters video in November... many know it but it was new to me and I love it with all the possibilities it brings.
ReplyDeleteInstead of using a whole panel of glitter cardstock, just take your Versamark and swipe the edges of your panel .. all around if you wish, about 1/2 inch wide and then emboss that with gold or silver embossing powder.. viola, a gorgeous gilted edge for the front panel of your card to be placed on.. stunning results every time. I am thinking I could do it with colors too... oh the possibilities. This technique made my holiday cards really pop.
gailnttexas@gmail.com
What an amazing card! My crafty goals for this year are to make the insides of my cards pretty, as well as the outside and improve my copic coloring skills. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Wishing you all the health & happiness for the coming year. I've learned so much from you & been entertained so much by YOU this past year & look forward to more knowledge drops in 2016.
ReplyDeleteMy crafty BFF is kind of a toss up between my daughter & my sister. But in all honesty, I usually end up crafting by myself 99% of the time. And that's OK, cuz I can do it at my own pace.
Thank you for your generous heart.
Craftjunkiesc@gmail.com
What an awesome blog hop! Thanks for the chance to win! I love reading your witty and charming posts...you always leave me with a smile! I'm losing weight this year once and for all! Halfway to my goal already :) blessings to you in 2016! Brensurf at bellsouth dot net
ReplyDeleteLove your cards as well as your sense of humor. Such a generous giveaway. I'm using my newly re-done craft room more and more each day. Just love having things at my fingertips to use.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be learning more about eating *raw* foods, as well as how to make fused glass creations (I've signed-up for classes for both and am very excited). Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn to watercolor!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win such awesome prizes.
What a great offer, Lydia! Those links are incredible, and it will take a while to get through them, but I resolve to do it! My favorite crafty project right now is making calendars using as many of my stamps as possible for the scenes at the top of the month -- enjoying this project almost as much as making sets of note cards for service providers and family. Thank you for all your inspiration. I agree with all of your picks for 2015 - great finds, and I think I have them all except for the color you chose. I'll work on that! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteMy crafty tip is packing tape (even scotch tape)! When I craft, there are invariably little scraps or glitter scattered around. Tape can just be swept around the area and it scoops up all the little annoyances on the craft table.
ReplyDeleteI'm horrible with measurements, I'd like to learn how to make this process easier.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Lydia! MISTI mini?!? Am I missing something here as I can't find this on the MSP website? My goal this year is to focus more and to finally get a MISTI. Maybe I'll wait to see what this mini is first though... My e-mail address is in my profile.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to enter this awesome giveaway!
Did I understand you right, there is a mini MISTI out? Where can I get it? I just went to Sweet Petunia and didn't see it. Thanks, Linda lucindagarpitt@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteOh my another amazing post! I try never to miss one and I'm so glad I didn't miss THIS. My crafting BFF is a woman I met when we were both cheering our daughters on from the bleachers of the high school basketball court. That was years ago and our girls are now grown, but we still try to make time to get together and make art - usually cards.
ReplyDeleteI love your card - the sky effect and water coloring of the couple are so cool. My crafty BFF is Linda C. who lives in Michigan. I moved to Florida 3 years ago and I miss my crafty BFF a ton. She taught me how to sew and knit and we'd often get together and make cards.
ReplyDeleteI have three fur babies - 2 cats (a tuxedo (Charlie) and muted tortoiseshell tabby (Gracie))and an 84lb Weimerainer (Abby). I love them all with all my heart and get so much joy having them in our lives.
Happy New Year and may you and everyone have a healthy and happy 2016!
Kim Hadad paradisestamper@gmail.com
My tip/goal is to realize that the precious time we spend crafting is deserving! I'm going to take whatever time I can and relish it! We deserve it! I can't wait to see where my mind takes me creating handmade gifts for friends and loved ones this year. Let's make 2016 FUN!!! laipm@heartofiowa.net PS. I am in dire need of some fun! Let it begin now!
ReplyDeleteLydia, I LOVE this card, I was shouting to make sure you heard me all the way from Ohio. My crafty BFF is Meg M who I met in San Antonio at a SU! Leadership and it was a friendship that was meant to be. We don't get to craft that often together but bounce ideas of of each other via text. A girl has to do what a girl has to do. If I win I will be donating these goodies to a stamper in need who is just starting her obsession with this wonderful art. stampstampstamp@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Lydia! My resolution for 2016 in crafting is to SEND more of the cards I make and to make cards for fun and not just for challenges. :) ~ Tricia T (thestampersstitches at gmail dot com)
ReplyDeleteHappy new year and fantastic links got stuck checking them out. My Crafty tip is when you have a pencil crayon that is broken inside you can nuke it for 10-15 sec to reset the lead to one solid piece you just have to test it out seeing each microwave is different thanks for the chance hugs Nikki
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - that's a great tip!
Deletewe have a delightful little dog named Belle. we got her from a rescue group that takes on the worst case dogs. i am currently doing a fundraiser for the rescue on my facebook card page.. i've sold 64 cards so far . i'm so proud of that. i wish i could save all the dogs.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I discovered a new love for water coloring cards and can't get enough. Loving this hop and the opportunity to visit so many creative people and blogs.
ReplyDeleteWe lost our 16 year old dog this year and are hoping to 'rescue' an older dog that needs a new home. Thank you for offering this givaway.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome hop. Since I have no craft stores in my area I love to watch all the utube videos except I spend more time watching then creating so that is my goal monitor how much inspiration I take in (?) before I create.
ReplyDeleteLove your sweet card and can't wait to check out that curvy box pinterest inspiration!
ReplyDeletecrafty tip?! I'm a big fan of using premade card bases!
Awesome prize giveaway! Thanks so much for the chance to win! Happy new year… God bless!
ReplyDeleteWe just rescued a dog we named Bella! She's a sweetie 😉
What I want to learn in 2016 - I want to learn to give myself permission to simply play. Play with my Copics, play with my pencils, play with my friends.
ReplyDeleteWe have a rescue pit mix. sweet Stella, not sure of her birth date but we approximate January 1st, so are celebrating her second year today!! Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! This year I intend to worry less, craft more, and share more with those I love.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Lydia. I just ordered Blueprint Sketch, but I doubt if it'll knock Mermaid Lagoon out of first place for me. I just learned a tip for adding texture to an area colored with wax or oil-based pencil. You use a tool with a pointy end (blunt, not sharp) to rub over a piece of Scotch tape to lift off the pencil.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I have a 6 year old miniature schnauzer named Zoey Joey and a 4 year old cat named Angus. I can't sleep in on the weekends because my cat comes and meows until I get up and feed him. My dog is just so cute and cuddly, she's very sweet.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!! my crafty bff is Ruby Naz!!!
ReplyDeleteWow Lydia, your card is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI want to learn to water colour in the new year. I have been accumulating the products necessary to get started with in the past few months. My tip would be if you are crafting in a small space maximize the space by using high bookcases/cabinets to store/organize your things. Store like things together that makes sense to you and its easier to locate them when needed.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I love your card and the beautiful technique you used! Thanks so much for being part of this amazing blog hop and a chance to win some wonderful goodies!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is absolutely beautiful. I just love it. I thought I'd leave you a recipe....I tried it for the first time at Christmas and it got rave reviews. :-)
ReplyDeleteFudge (aka the best fudge in the whole wide world)
* Butter 3 small square baking pans or 1 really large baking pan
* Cut up 1 lb of butter and melt in a large pot.
* Add 1 kg brown sugar, 1 can of carnation evaporated milk, and 1 tsp vanilla. Stir well.
* Bring mixture to a rolling boil (takes about 10 mins). Stir frequently.
* Once mixture is boiling, turn heat to medium-low and let boil EXACTLY 12 minutes - Stir constantly. Yes, your hand gets tired and it’s boring, but don’t stop.
* After 12 minutes, remove from heat and add 1 kg of icing sugar. Beat with beaters just until mixed in.
* Pour into pan(s) and leave on counter to set. Don’t refrigerate.
Enjoy! :-)
Whoops....I hit publish instead of preview so I didn't get a chance to leave my email address...sorry about that....it's clanrichardson at hotmail dot com.
ReplyDeleteI believe this is the longest bloghop I've ever encountered. First, your card is sweet and hopeful at the same time. I'll never be sweet, but I'm always hopeful. The card is lovely. Made crafty pals in New Zealand, France and Canada this year for which I'm grateful. We have one obnoxious and manic cat named Hannah who alternately charms and terrorizes us on a regular basis. Also, we have a precious senior pup who doesn't understand why we ever rescued said cat. Makes for an interesting household. My wish for the New Year is for everyone to achieve the peace they seek. Happy 2016.
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet card, love it!! My goals for this year are to create more than 2015 and buy less. Too much has been unused!! I need to walk more, I think I will come down so we can walk together :) Wishing you a wonderful 2016 my friend!!! *smooches*
ReplyDeleteThanks for a generous giveaway and I love your card! My crafty BFF is Ruby Naz!
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous prize!!! We lost one of our dogs (mini red dachshunds) in November but just got a new pup. He keeps me on my toes, and helps refresh the memories of the sweet baby I lost! Happy New Year to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for being so inspirational! My crafting BFF is my husband, not because he crafts with me but because he supports me in anyway possible! Can't wait to see what 2016 brings!
ReplyDeleteI have quite a few goals this year. The usual, lose weight, exercise more. Also I'm going for a new certification in my field of Ultrasound that I have let intimidate me for far too long.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year mf.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy reading your blog posts. Beautiful, warm, glowing card.
My wish for the New Year is to be more organized if that is possible. It was an amazing year with a surprise gift of a MISTI from the most generous creator. I love, love it and use it all the time.
Blessings to you mf I know it has been a difficult few days with the loss of your friend. May we look back and realize all the wonderful blessings we have received and are yet to come....the biggest is friendship.
Love this community, the card and YOU! My stampy BFF is Kate! HAPPY NEW YEAR SWEET LYDIA N PAUL

My New Year Resolution is to get my craft room cleaned and organized! Love your card and love reading your blog! Wishing you many blessings in the coming year!
ReplyDeleteHello, my dear friend! Happy New Year! You are my first blog visit for 2016 which is appropriate because I think I visit you the most! Your card is gorgeous!!! You are a vault with keeping secrets, the best kind of friend!! You know all about Storm and Lil Bit so I won't add to that other than Storm is sleeping right beneath this screen and making it very difficult for me to switch between my NOTEPAD icon and my favorites list as I am trying to compile a BEST OF list. (not an easy task with over 1100 cards to choose from). So if I am not going to introduce you to my pets I will introduce you to my Stamping BFF and being slightly rebellious I have two but they share the same name so maybe that counts as one. Janeen and Janine. One lives way up in the frozen north and one lives across the pond. My life has been enhanced for knowing them! Happy New Year! I look forward to following you in 2016!
ReplyDeleteFirst off-fabulous card Lydia. Love the magenta sky. 2nd- I did not know there is a Mini Misti!! Thanks for the enabling! My New Years resolution is that I am NOT going to stop drinking wine!
DeleteAlso- I am not sure why but I can only do a comment if I hit the reply for the last posted comment.

Very pretty twist on the night sky. That couple is so nicely styled and colored!
ReplyDeleteMy pup is 12 years old and starting to have a few screws loose and medical problems. We love our fuzzy buddy so much and I could each day as a blessing that I still have him.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great prize! My dog, Lucky, loves to sit with me while I craft. Too bad she can't join me. Lol.
ReplyDeleteOmg! You are brilliant! I never would have thought to put these two sets together like this. Perfect for Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteCrafty best friend is my dog. Bo would rather be my stamping buddy than hang with the boys watching football. See what I did there… Crafty best friend plus dog story 😂
Ohhh, fun prizes Lydia! I have one pet - cat named Penelope. She has enjoyed the blog hop already because she likes sitting on my lap :)
ReplyDeleteI always love when you share your kitties' funny and sweet exploits with us! I have three cats -- Poppy, Delilah, and Phoenix. I esp. love to dote on Phoenix who was dumped at the end of our farm lane. She nearly died, but IV fluids and multiple antibiotics saved her. Though she's not totally healthy yet, she is a super sweet 8 month old calico kitty who is so entertaining.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
jsgoch@oh.net

ReplyDeleteMy resolution for this year is to be more positive and confident. It seems like a small thing, but it's really huge for me!
happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI may sound like a Miss America contestant, but here goes...
My wish for his year is for all factions of the government to work together for the good of all the citizens and the country, and secondly , for all religions in the world to respect all people and let people choose what they practice , where they practice, and have the freedom to practice their religion without fear. HA! As for your other options, well, I could go on about my puppy Morgan, for hours, but you can also just check out the #mymorganpup hashtag on instagram. HA! Yup. I gave her a hashtag. Lydia, oh Lydia....yes I have met Lydia!! <3 You have been a crafting hero to me, especially last year with the huge transition for me! I love you bunches and lots!! Lets see: You already have my Crack Mac & Cheese recipe, I have no pets anymore with no kids at home and a crazy life but support my kids both rescuing animals and pay for their upkeep, my motto for the new year is "Do It Anyway" and I look forward to an amazing year! Thank you most of all for BEING YOU! Happy, Happy 2016 my incredible friend!!
ReplyDeleteI have so enjoyed getting to know you via the internet, Lydia. You are one talented lady! I would love to learn to knit this year. Thanks for the chance to win! :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful giveaways! We just got a new pet, a rescue lemon beagle named Oshie. He is super sweet and we are loving getting to know him. Hope you have a wonderful New Year!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win a shopping spree :-)
ReplyDeleteI will tell you that my visually impaired cat Jelly caught a fly :-) so proud of her! She could hear it buzzing around and when it got near her, she jumped up with ninja like skills and grabbed it between her paws >^..^< (I will also add the rest of the teamcat mojo failed at this mission).
My favorite crafty BFF is my daughter in law, Cayli.
ReplyDeleteI have two things that I would like to conquer this year - perfecting my shading when I'm coloring and making a shaker card that really works.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these have been pathetic in the past. My crafting buddy is my daughter Kathy. My dog Bear tries to help whenever she can - if a piece of paper falls on the floor she runs off with it and chews it up. Live is exciting.
thanks for the offer of a gift.
Happy new Year

ReplyDeleteWow, thank you for your generosity! My resolution isn't really for the "new" year, since I made it last August, so it's a repeat: it's to stay on track with birthdays (did well until now -- the holidays got me behind) AND to start holiday cards early (STILL haven't finished all of those. ) Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteI would also like to be more patient. I was the one who wanted to learn more on the computer - I forgot to save my email address. It is kanga@sunflower.com.

ReplyDeleteI want to learn embroidery this year!
In 2016 I want to be more present in my life and to be more active. And to make more memories to scrapbook)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
My wish is a simple one ... no hospital stays for 2016! Your blog has introduced me to many topics that would never have been on my radar. My crafty plans include learning how to water color. Thanks for the inspiration and creativity you bring to my inbox.
ReplyDeleteYour blog posts are always the best and I always enjoy reading them. I don't make New Year's resolutions, but I do have some goals for 2016 - (1) change my office into my card-making room - as I type this, my husband is painting the closet and we're going to IKEA tomorrow to buy shelves and other stuff! Progress is finally being made! (2) stay healthy and not have any more accidents that prevent me from making cards, (3) make more cards, (4) learn new things from you! Thank you for the opportunity to learn from you this past year, and I look forward to what I'm going to learn from you in 2016!
ReplyDeleteMy crafty friend is Betty S. We love making cards and shopping for supplies.
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to seeing your blog appear in my email inbox! The combination of gorgeous artwork, technique tips and hints, and musings on life (which a huge scoop of humor) makes your blog a must-read. This night sky background with the big dipper is just spectacular, and so unique. My goal for the New Year is to finish up some projects that have been languishing for several years, and to force myself to use some of those supplies that I've been hoarding for too long. Thank you for the chance to win some goodies and Happy 2016!
ReplyDeleteMy wish is to bring more peace and kindness to the world by uniting this beautiful craft community to share our handmades with others daily. Small influences of kindness may touch many
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and thanks for all the inspiration, your card today is a real beauty. There are several things that I want to learn this year but topping the list is to become a better photographer and right below that is to learn more about watercoloring. Thanks for the chance to win fabulous gifts. My email is howell.bw@gmail.com.
ReplyDeleteWhoops, forgot to leave my email address with my comment!

I have a cat again (finally) that just loves attention. Diego likes nothing better than to be held like a baby with his head buried in my neck. Now if he would just learn to leave his claws in...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. I would love to learn to my water color pencils more.
ReplyDeleteMy crafty bff is Desiree' Perkins.
When making shaker cards I always use my powder bag around the edges of the adhesive on the window sheet before I add my sequins and glitter. That way they don't stick as bad.
I have 3 inside birds. 1 African Grey (Bailey) 2 Goffin Cocatoos ( Snowball-male & Milley female, then we also raise exotic pheasants and Chickens. We have about 250 to 300 Pheasants and 12 Chickens. Sadly we lost our two dogs last year.
Here is my favorite recipe. Some people think it is weird, but they love it when they try it! It is Cantaloupe Juice.
ReplyDeleteJust scrape the mat of a cantaloupe and put it in a blender. Pulse for 5 seconds. Repeat until the fruit is almost liquid (you can leave a few coarse pieces if you want). Pour in a pitcher, add about 2 cups of water and some sugar (depending on how sweet you want it to be). Cool in the fridge prior to drinking.
You will find that it is a great heat buster on a hot summer day!
P.S. Your card is beautiful! Your watercolor skills are awesome! Thanks for the chance to win a prize!
Happy New year!!!A crafty tip for those cling stamps with out an image on the cling part. I use a clear block with a grid, and line it up with my lined craft mat. Place the cling stamp up, so you are looking at the rubber image or sentiment. Eye ball your placement on the block, lining up the word or image with one of the lines on your block. Stamp on scrap paper to check, make adjustments as necessary!
ReplyDeleteI plan to spend more time with my granddaughter crafting. She is really into stamping and I need to learn how to use copics better.

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I have a lost & found dog of unknown origins tho many have guessed. She's going on 8 yrs, we found her as a pup, and her name is Sissy, dh says that's because she is one (unlike other dogs we've had). :) Some say she's like a small golden (mid-size) but a few have said she looks like a Nova Scotia Duck Toller. I had to look it up the first time I heard that, and she definitely does look like one! Last night was terrifying for her, sadly. She doesn't not like booms, or any unusually loud noises and objects that make them. Otherwise she loves to run, go for long walks/hikes, go for rides, and has a great nose for finding anything & everything. She is comical to watch as she sniffs up one blade of grass or twig & down another, esp. when she pauses at the top & eyeballs me before continuing on. She is very loud in her defense of property tho she is scared/leary of anyone approaching unless we are out on a hike or at a dog park. She will bark & growl at a UPS truck (driver or not) no matter where she spots it, even when we are out driving around. She is our much loved, furry companion, that can drive us crazy, tho based on some of her looks & sighs, I think the feeling is mutual. :)
ReplyDeleteWell that was a lot of crafty news this year.
ReplyDeleteWhat would I like to learn this year. How to best use my stencils. My Crafty BFF is my little sister Amy. She live so far away but we spend a lot of time sharing on the internet. My crafty tip is nothing new but baby wipes makes my life so much easier. I don't know how I lived without them. As for Pets... we have two cats, sisters, Lucky and Clover. Which are currently still in bed. They are a couple of bums...LOL I could go on but you have a lot of comments to read. Thanks for the chance and Happy New Year
Happy New Year! Thank you for this wonderful blog hop! So much fun and so many amazing prizes and inspiration. So...... new years resolution is to create something every day.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your fabulous giveaway. This year was the first year I started watching YouTube videos and following blogs for crafting. I am always amazed at the generosity of fellow crafters in sharing their tips and designs. The MISTI definitely makes stamping easier, this year I am going to try and use it more efficiently. Hope your new year is full of crafting wonderfulness. Charliemmh@aol.com
ReplyDeletePS. Thanks for revealing the Mini Misti to me! My mom had said someone was hinting at a 'New Misti', but I had no idea what she was talking about! I went right over to her store to see the details for myself, ha! Thanks to your inspiration, I just received my Brushos this last week and have been re-viewing some videos with using them. Also the GTJ Watercolors. I believe what you said, that these items being "economical coloring mediums" they are, they won't go out of style, unlike my stash of eyelets (oye, whatever was I thinking I would use them for again?)! :)
ReplyDeleteohhhh my puppies!! 2 beagles - one young, one old. both stubborn. both rescues. if i had my way, i'd probably come home with a new dog every other day!!

ReplyDeleteMy Mom is my crafty BFF along with my two cats. My wish for 2016 is for my sweet cat Sammie to get well this year. It's been a rough December that resulted in a firing of a animal Doctor and ending up at an animal hospital so they could remove a growth full of infection from her tongue and insert a feeding tube into her neck so she could get nutrition. Watching how much pain this small creature handles every day is very humbling. My resolution is to start mailing out the cards I make.
ReplyDeleteMy BFF for crafty cards is actually 5 other women who started out as students in a class and have since become crafty friends. Thanks for the chance to win.

LOVE your Big Dipper card! So sweet and beautifully colored!
ReplyDeleteI could talk forever about my furkids, but I'll just let you know how fur crazy I and my house are *blush* I am the proud furmom to 5 wonderful and large lap dogs and 8 crazy kitties. I'm also the neighborhood critter soup kitchen that keeps food out for all the strays (many of which I've been able to get spayed). I have 4 that have made this there permanent home and I keep beds and blankets in my garage for them to sleep in (and keep warm in the winter). With a fenced in backyard, it makes it easy to keep the back door to the garage cracked for them to come and go as they wish (not that they ever go far). Yes, I am the Crazy Critter Lady :-D
Wishing you and yours a most blessed 2016 ♥♥
I would have to say my wish is that you are rewarded tenfold for your generosity in this blog hop. Happy New Year

ReplyDeleteWhat a great review for the year! I agree with it all..so fun to be reminded and agree eyelets will make a comeback just like fashion...everything goes around comes around. I have 3 cats and 1 dog. I have 2 ragdoll cats and a humane society cat that we rescued 2 years ago. She was 8 they said but the vet says she's 10-20 years old because of her arthritis. My daughter went the Humane Society camp. Our agreement was no animals were to come home. Well that went out the window the first day when she came home crying that this cat loved her and let her pet it for hours. By the end, I was convinced that she needed this cat. She memorized the card and everything about the cat. It was a scrawny orange tabby. When we went to get her they said that her tail needed to be cut off because she had a benign tumor on the tail and that we could pick up the cat Tuesday. By then she had developed kennel cough and had the worst mucous pouring out of her head. She was so weak and with the cone..didn't pee or poop for a few days. My husband was so good with the Antibiotics and she finally started to perkup. When they released her to me they gave me a CD for my vet. I asked of the surgery they said no. We noticed her limping so took an xray of her shoulder and she has a BB stuck in it. But it is old and doesn't need to be removed. Once she started perking up I moved her to a larger area in the laundry room, kitchen and craft area. I noticed she snores very loudly. but then thought cats always jump when you enter a room..well guess what she is deaf too. So we adopted a tailless, deaf and limping cat...she is wonderful and she is going to have a wonderful second half of her life. My husband calls her Zombie cat because he says he brought her back from death. Her name is Pumpkin and she is the sweetest cat.
ReplyDeleteForgot my email is mommyeyedr@aol.com mom of Zombie Cat
