Hello Squeak Heart

Soooo, a little mouse (my Iphone) ate my shamrock video and the video for today's card, sadly, but I had so much fun making it, I had to still share. This card is for Monday's blog hop, which you can see here

I'm one of those people who thinks mice are some of the cutest things on the planet. I also love cheese! So this card was a no-brainer.

I used my magic fadeout ink to stamp the mouse, and then masked him (or her?) with masking paper before stamping the cheese. Then I painted them both with Daniel Smith watercolor, and popped the whole thing back into the MISTI. I used my Copic Gasenfude pen to make the nose and eye black and then overstamped them.

I never remove my stamps from the MISTI until I'm done completely with a card, because I do overstamp so frequently - that's my tip for today!

Punny sentiments crack me up, and this little stamp set is full of them. They always have such clean fonts, too.

So how about a giveaway?? It's my anniversary-ish today - it's actually on the 29th, but we don't have one of those this year, so today is the stand-in date.

I have a Bob Ross water bottle from Creativation to give away. Here's what it looks like (bag not included).

Here's what you need to do - comment on this post by Friday, telling me what thing you like (like mice) that other people don't like. We can find out how quirky we all are!

I'll post the winner on Monday. Be SURE that you either leave your email or have your email linked in your Blogger profile - here's how you do that if you are currently a "no reply" blogger profile, meaning people can't get in touch. Otherwise I won't know how to get in touch with you!

Loveyameanitsqueakheartsbye.

  1. Hmm, I am trying to something "quirky" that I like and all I can come up with is food. I actually like veggies, mushrooms and olives - all of those things that people tend to turn their noses up at! Lol.

  2. Adorable card. While I'm not fond of stamping/coloring mice, I do love seeing them on others works. I'm a huge fan of frogs and turtles for stamping & coloring. Also, watching these critters in nature, as well as snakes, is mesmerizing to me.

  3. I love people who enable me to buy great new stampy finds, but everybody loves that. Your mouse is cute, and I like mice, too. Okay, here’s my odd like.... I absolutely adore the smell of old books. It’s probably mildew and mold, right? Yuck. But whatever. I love the smell of old book pages. There. I’ve outed myself.

  4. Okay...not many people know this but I had hamsters as a teen. It started with one, who I was told was a boy, however clearly was a girl when she had two babies. Her name was Hammy. Original, right? The babies were named Pierre and the girl baby was Becky. (I also had a frog that I named Becky, that I found in the woods). After that we had hamster condominiums because they cannot be left alone for a second!! At one point I had 12 hamsters! Then I got a bunny and after that my parents did not let me go to the pet store. The bunny was named Mikey...like the kid on the life cereal commercial. My parents could have avoided the whole zoo if they had let me get a kitten!!! That is what I really wanted! I did love my hamsters! And Mikey was adorable! And I have never been without a cat since I turned 18!!!
Side note, mom and I watched Bob Ross every time it was on!! He was mesmerizing!!!

  5. Oh, be still my heart! This is sooooo cute!!! Just darling and beautifully colored too! Shhhh don't tell, but I think mice are cute too! But not the ones you can get in a pet store with the red eyes. Bleck. A real mouse that should not EVER be in your house. They really are cute very cute. Don't ask me how I know this. I also love rain. I do. I know I will be sent to the corner for that one but I love it. Umm...when I can be home that is, since the accident I don't like it if I have to drive.

  7. Oh my goodness, that mouse is so cute!! And the shading in the cheeses is amazing. I guess if I had to pick something that I like that others don't I would say chamelons? I love their little expressions and colors.

  8. Happy Anniversary!! My iPhone eats my contacts, I'll go to call or text, and their number is nowhere to be found. The weird thing I like is the Praying Mantis, they look like little aliens. They were always on the outside walls of our house growing up.

  9. I'm wondering if you plotted that date to start. It would be so like some snarky blogger to do. Love this set and your amazing no-line skills! Stalking the mailman for my ink pad!

I love wolf spiders, opposums, and beans in my chili. Don't shun me, please! You'll find me in the timeout corner if I win.

  10. Your card is adorable! I love the no-line coloring! I'm hoping I win your giveaway because I know a little boy named Nolan who would LOVE that water bottle. He's currently taking a Paint Like Bob Ross course and shows serious talent for painting. Anyway, here's my weird quirk; I love the smell of exhaust fumes from diesel engines. I know, weird, right?! But it's because I grew up boating on the Illinois River with my parents and the smell of boat exhaust brings back all those happy memories! :) Since boats run on diesel and so do some trucks, it doesn't actually have to be a boat to take me back in time with scent.

  11. Happy Anniversary. Love your blog and projects. I like canned sardines. Used to eat them with my dad on saltine crackers. Yum!

  12. Such a cute card! I always get funny looks when I tell people that I 💗 mice, rats, bearded dragons, frogs and moths! I would have at least one rat, mouse and bearded dragon if I could because they are so snuggly and adorable! Yes, I said snuggly! LOL. TFS!

  13. Forgot to add that my magic no line ink should be here by 8 pm tonight! Dying to try it!
I never missed an episode of Bob Ross and envisioned myself being able to paint just like him! I think he was my first real crush as a kid! I loved his hair! I always had to kiss him goodbye as he was finishing up to my brother’s amusement! LOL
    TFS!

  14. I would like to take a stand for possums. They are innocent little critters just trying to survive, like any other critter. People hate them because they aren't "cute". They don't have any self-protection (playing dead, really?) and they have terrible eye sight. There are more possums on the roads than other critters. Don't they deserve some compassion and help in this world? Don't they deserve YOUR help?
