I definitely do - there are design styles I come back to again and again and never get tired of them. Today's card is an example of one of the things I never tire of - and that's a monochromatic card with a pop of color.
Paired with the right sentiment, it just rocks. I love the drama and contrast of it all.
I got the stamp set I'm using today because it reminded me of one of my favorite books I read when I was a kid. The style of the faces and the hundreds of combinations in the set for unique faces really appealed to me.
It just so happens that the person who made this set is my sweet friend Tifany - who I think is simply the best. A sweet, hard-working mompreneur, Tifany is also sweet, talented and hilarious. I had so much fun hanging out with her at a retreat in the fall - she's just a joy to be around - and that sweetness shows in her designs.

I started by stamping the lower right girl in Memento with my MISTI. Then I stamped her on masking paper, cut her out, masked her and stamped the girl to the left. Repeated that process with the last two girls. For the top row, I stamped my center girl first, masked her and then stamped the other two. Then I colored the other girls in greys, and the center girl in color. The colors I used are: N0, N2, N4, N6 for the greys. On the colored girl, I used E11, E50, E51, E53, E55, E57, BG23, BG49, BV0000, BV08, RV29. The sentiment is from this stamp set.I wanted their features to be a bit darker than the images, so I stamped them with Versafine Clair. I put all the faces onto my card, picked them all up at once with the lid of my MISTI, and then stamped them all at once.
I made this card as a guest for today's blog hop & giveaway from Tifany and My Sweet Petunia. I made a resolution at Creativation, when I was around so many creative, hard-working people who face rip-off products and other threats to their livelihoods to do more guest spots this year, and help share my love for the independent people trying to make a living in this fun industry. Probably because I follow you, I feel protective of our MISTI creator. I get so irritated when I see a couple of LARGE companies ripping off the idea. Shame on them! I know that hers isn't the only product but it's the one I know about! :)

At first, I only see the girl with all the color, with the others appearing as only being stamped. On a closer look, I DO see the subtle grey tones on the background girls.

Fantastic! I love the pop of color and I love the idea of coloring in the neutral gray. I've highlight colored but never thought to color in images in a neutral.
