Please Call for Help!!!

I'm trapped. I'm in my bedroom with my cats and my laptop and he's out in the living room. I'm so scared right now. He knows that we are in here.

Here's what happened. I came home with groceries. I start putting them away and I hear Maddie making this awful sound. I run over to her and she's making this really weird sound and looking up at the wall. I look up and that's when I see it. #(*$^&(@*#&@!!!!

I grab my cats and put them in the bedroom. Good Maddie - she's a bug early warning system. I love that in a cat. If I ever hear her make that sound again we're running out the door and I'm tossing a Molotov cocktail in behind me.

I debate. It's too high for me to hit with anything. LIKE I WOULD DO THAT!!! ARE YOU INSANE?? HAVE YOU EVER BEEN STUNG BY A WASP??? That just REALLY makes them mad and stingy.

It's looking at me. It makes these horrible sounds with its wings. I call the DH. He laughs at me. I file for divorce.

So, I do the only thing I can do. Run like a Marine through a battlefield, head down, soundlessly, grab my laptop and run into the bedroom.

OMG I HAVE TO STUFF SOMETHING UNDER THE DOOR!!!! BRB!!!

For this reason I cannot upload card photos right now because they are on my big computer. If I survive this, I'll post them this weekend.

In the meantime - here are some fun, non hideous scratchy stinging beast related things

First of all, yesterday I was featured on Tip Junkie's Teach me Thursday! Yippee. If you haven't seen this site, you need to. I love these women who do all the hard work of combing the internet for us and bring great things together in one place. Card of the Week, Paper Friendly One Pretty Thing - this people are my heroines!

Second, I uploaded a Pig Latin lesson to Mindbites!! Do you want to learn the best language ever in 5 minutes?? I am an accomplished Pig Latin Expert and frequently appear at Pig Latin trials as an interpreter and an expert. I'm on the Pig Latin lecture circuit, and do Pig Latin manuscript work for the Ivy Leagues. So check it out!

I'll be trapped in here for a few hours waiting for the DH to come kill that thing so at least I can catch up on my email. The cats are doing laps around me like little greyhounds. It's going to be a long afternoon. Pray for me.

The Comet Shrank Earth's Cupcakes!

Here is the only photo I got of the comet. It's okay to laugh! I think my shutter was open for like 10 minutes! Then, something very strange happened. All of the cupcakes on earth became very tiny! Look at these teeny tiny gorgeous red velvet cupcakes! Some of them made their way to my door via my super fabulous downline, Emily, the author of Crafty Cannata.

Look how cute this is!!!!!!!!Seriously.

I can't believe I have this stamp set and haven't made anything with it yet. No way could I do Emily's little creation justice.

Hey - did you see my tutorial on Splitcoast? I'm so excited!

My Blogger webinar is tonight for anyone who wants to learn to set up and modify their own blog. If you haven't signed up yet, you can do so in my sidebar.

Have a great Thursday!

Yeah, I know it's a Retired Set...

But I really really like it.

Especially the little old fashioned pram.

When did we decide that it was better for babies to face away from us in the modern stroller? What if you're walking along with your Ipod on and your baby has a wasp on its face? What if your baby just learned the entire American Sign Language Alphabet and is madly signing away and you are missing it? What if he/she just flipped off another baby?

I'm just saying - I think it's weird to have them facing a different direction. We should go back to these.

This is a 5 X 5.5 card, and I used a Behr oversized paint chip for the background. The card base is Chocolate Chip (sorry it looks black). I colored the buggy with my blender pen and Pirouette Pink, cut out and popped up the little cover, (inspired by the lovely and talented Lisa Somerville and her fabby card, here) and added glitter to the carriage and the spokes of the wheels.
Hope you have a great Ash Wednesday!

If you are the type of person who gives something up for Lent, leave it in a comment.

I am doing something very difficult. In years past, I gave up: chocolate, sweets in general, fast food (anything not served by a waiter/waitress), fried food etc.

This year, *sniff* I am giving up my beloved breve. Breve is the Starbucks word for half and half. Every day I have a quad short breve no foam latte. So until Easter, it will be an extremely spare and monk like regular milk latte. Which might not seem like a big deal to you, but it is the food/drink I look forward to every day. It starts my day every day. That and other Starbucks happiness. :) To me, regular milk is like water. Or worse. Sometimes I add half and half to my cereal. It runs in my veins. I gotta stop before I cry.

I will also add something, which I did last year. Not sure what that will be yet.

But Starbucks - watch the heck out on Easter Sunday!!!!!!!!!

What about you?

Hey - we saw a CRAZY huge comet tonight! It was all different colors when you looked through binoculars. Story here - and it really was colored. My nephew studies physics and swore a comet that size would destroy the earth, but apparently he needs to hit the books!

But the skies over Austin sure have been exciting lately!

Fuzzy and Blue

What could be better?

I guess I am in a white phase. I think it's because the new images are so crisp and clean, they just need white space.

This is a 20 second card. Stamp stamp stamp. Crystal effects. Fuzzy Baby Blue Flower Soft.

Go away while it dries.

Send to a friend.

Oh, have you seen this?

Start messing with the controls on the upper left and be prepared to get lost for a few hours in some lovely geometry. Don't forget to turn the lines blue. :)

Gather Round, Young Uns

Grammy has a story about the olden days. And by Grammy, I mean me - a person born before MTV was.

Grammy grew up in a time where phones had DIALS. For those of you reading this on your Iphone, this is what I'm talking about. This is the origin of the mysterious phrase "Dial the phone." (oooh, ahhh - I see the faces lighting up at this revelation. You're welcome.)

This is a picture of the phone Grammy grew up with. She had to put her little fingers in those holes, and spin the dial, like on Wheel of Fortune, then wait, while the little ball bearing laden thingy slowly spun the dial back to the starting position so that you could dial the next number. YES I AM SERIOUS. This is where the phrase "speed dial" comes from. Anything under 45 seconds per number (God help you people with zeros in your number - you probably lost a lot of friends) would have been considered LIGHTNING SPEED.

Now there was one feature of these phones that Grammy would like to call to your attention.

THEY #)($*^)#*&^(ING WORKED!!!

When you did finish dialing the number, and you heard that purring sound that ringing used to make and your buddy answered, YOU COULD HEAR WHAT THEY WERE SAYING! It wasn't like the Aaron Neville style experience we have now, where maybe you get every third syllable, but because of the stupid satellite delay, by the time you HEAR Aaron Neville, you're already talking at the same time. Then you both say "What?" in sync four times, and then "No, you go ahead" in sync 4 times, at which point you would rather be in front of the person just so that you would have something to punch.

My dad is right - phone service is deteriorating at exactly the same rate that phone technology is proliferating. Exponentiallly.

Now - here's the kicker. You know that Grammy has a hate hate relationship with the faceless phone monopoly, right? Well do you want to know what they did? In Grammy's day, that gorgeous black hunk of ball bearing laced wires that was heavy enough to kill a feral hog with that was plugged into our wall in our house BELONGED TO THE FACELESS MONOPOLY.

That's right. All equipment belonged to "the company." And when "the company" split up, on a tearful day many decades ago, "the men" came to our homes and they took those hog killers.

That's right. I am not making this up. They took our phones. That's when all this started. I'm pretty sure that's what Don McLean wrote American Pie about. The day the music died was the day they took our phones.

And if I had had the foresight to know I would never ever have anything that good again. I would have hidden that thing with all the passion and resourcefulness of Winston and Julia in 1984, believe me. My mom would have been screaming - "RUN, CHILD, RUN - DON'T STOP - WE'LL FIND YOU - JUST DON'T LOSE THE PHONE." I would have eaten tree bark for months. If only I'd known.

I don't think I'm alone in pining for those days of crystal clear sound, heavy handsets, black ball bearing-y goodness. Why do I think that?

Look closely little ones. That's no Iphone, ladies. That is a REAL PHONE. It's in the stamp set Classy & Fabulous. From the new catalog.

And I'd let you see the rest of the card, except - it's for my club. Have you joined? You can do so in my sidebar. But back to the subject at hand.

This is a signal. We are lighting the torches. We are kicking it off. We are getting our PHONES back!!!

Viva La Revolucion!!!!

Swimmy, Anyone?

Did anybody read Swimmy? If you remember this post, about Little Blue and Little Yellow, Swimmy is by the same author. It is an incredible book, about a teeny little fish that ends up doing a very big thing. Really sweet. Swimmy is also black and all the other fish are red, which is really sad, but ends up saving him. I won't spoil it for you! :)

But it inspired this card. I reversed the colors since the red had so much punch.

These are more Suiboku images. I stamped them in black and then went over them with my black glaze pen. I colored the red fish with Copics.

Each little bubble on the fishies I felt compelled to fill with a teeny rhinestone.

I used the sassy Sizzix die for the little die cut. This time I used it to cut the entire card, because it cuts and scores the card while it's punching out the window wherever you want it. This thing rocks.

The greeting is from Stampin' Up! - Happiness is a Journey. I colored it with markers.

Okay, now onto the news.

Thanks to my alert reader, I found out I was published in the most recent issue of Take Ten Magazine!

Thank you so much because I didn't know. Thursday, I got a copy of the magazine in the mail, so here's the card - it's one of my bunny cards from Project Reanimate.

Off with her head!

I just can't do it.

It's very hard for me to stamp sort of realistic looking people. It's really hard to make faces look good other than in photos I think, and so I'm always disturbed by them in stamps. I just can't do it. It would be like going to the circus or patting a wolf spider. There are some fears just not worth facing.

Maybe that's why the MFT girls are headless. They're just prettier without their heads. Weird, but true.

So you won't catch me stamping that lady from one of my most favorite new sets - Sip by Sip. I just can't.

But I LOVE the rest of it. I love the retro look and the cleanness of it. So freaking fun. This is one I will NEVER part with, should, God forbid, it retire.

And LOOKY - I used the new magnetic Sizzix die, that lets you place that little label punch out (also a teeny die) anywhere you want on your card!! I LOVE THIS THING!!!

The colors here are Basic Black and Tangerine Tango. That's it. Very simple card.

Mmm. Coffee. Can't wait for mine tomorrow. Love that coffeeshop, I do.

I have some exciting news to share with you guys this weekend! (Insert torturous long wait here)

TAIL!!!

funny pictures

Talking to Theresa (sorry girl - I'm a prolific emailer) tonight, she totally made me have a repressed memory.

Wait - that doesn't make sense. I didn't repress a memory. I remembered a repressed memory. Does that mean I DEpressed a memory? Some ding dong like Dr. Phil probably has some stupid word for when you are shocked into remembering a repressed thing, but I would never watch Dr. Phil, so I'm gonna make up a word.

I had a REANIMATED memory!!!! Yes.

Here's what she said. "Speaking of vets, how is our poor tail?" She was talking about Splotchy, not MY butt. That would just be weird.

WELL THEN I REMEMBERED TAIL. I had a "pet" named Tail when I was little. For YEARS. And tail was, well, a TAIL. God, I really hope it wasn't a real tail - FAMILY - DO NOT EMAIL ME AND TELL ME IT WAS OR I WILL SHUN YOU - but it was just, a tail. I think it was stripey like a coon tail and I loved it so much. I dragged it around with me everywhere - state after state after state in the seatbelt free environment we hurtled around America in on summer vacations.

When I love things I just name them what they are. TAIL.

Anyway, Splotch is cool. (See - he's splotchy. I named him Splotchy. Simple girl, I am) His broken tail is not interfering with his soccer or jumping abilities. He's just crooked.

I actually do have a card for you today.

On the left side, Park Avenue Patterns, stamped twice - that's why it looks blurry. The first time I stamped it in VersaMark, then Basic Black. Yes, I used the Stamp a ma Jig. It's actually stamped three times and I had to line up those teeny lines.

Then I stamped the flowers in black on white and cut them out. They are popped up on dimensionals.

Don't forget that you can "split" a rubon. I took "Bloom where you're planted" and used the white one for part of it and the black one for the other part. Cool.

What I like about this style watch is the crisp, typographical clarity of the designs, so that's what I tried to preserve with this ditty.

Hope u likey.

TAIL!!!!!!!!!

Spring Has Sprung...

Spring has sprung
The grass is riz
I wonder where the flowers iz?

Am I the only person whose mother used to recite this little ditty? It still cracks me up.

Well I'm wondering where the flowers iz. I don't have any in my yard. And yes, Canadians, it's time for flowers here. I'm sorry that it's still cold where you are. Maybe this will help.

I wanted some color blocking. Partly from a lack of mojo after a SPECTACULAR card I can't show you until March 1st, and partly because sometimes the color fades, you know?

Color blocking usually involves emboss resist and large panels of color around the resist.

I remembered that in some sort of hoarding frenzy I had bought some thin masking tape. Not like the traditional masking tape - the kind that is repositionable and just used for masking.

Do you think I know where that is? RU nuts? Of course not. But I do know where my VersaMarker and my ruler are, so that's what I used for my grid.

I just used those to draw a cross to create my four squares. Then I embossed this cross with clear.

In each square, I then stamped the branch from Bird on a Branch in Versamark and clear embossed. On the last one, I also stamped the bird and embossed it.
The rest is easy - just sponge on some color. From top left to bottom right, my seasons go: Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring. I used Summer Sun, Tangerine Tango, Going Grey and Tempting Turquoise.

Then I used the "spring" (which doesn't even look like a word to me at this point) rub-on from Perfect Day. That's it! Hope it puts a little color in your Monday! PS - did you know that Presidents Day was originally just Washington's Birthday? In the 80's they started lumping Lincoln's birthday together with this, and then it was just turned into a Presidents Day. You should go learn some trivia about one of our Presidents and share it in your comment!

Environmental Discrimination

Yeah. This is outrageous. Before I show you my latest bunny creation, I gotta get this off my chest.

So at about 6 this morning, I head to the gym. There's almost no one there - I think maybe 10 cars in the parking lot. So I head up to park at the front.

And then I see this at the two parking spaces in front of the door.
Are you freaking kidding me? So, SUV's to the back of the parking lot? And WTH is low emitting and fuel efficient? Fuel efficient is a relative term after all. If you've just switched from a Yukon to a motorcycle, the motorcycle actually "emits" more pollution. So the Yukon can park there, but not a motorcycle, which many misled people think is more fuel efficient and easier on the tree frogs. It's not. Plus, I laughed MAO standing in front of the sign imagining enforcement of this idiotic program. Gym employees coming out and checking catalytic converters and then - seriously - laughing so hard - CALLING A GIANT STINKY TOW TRUCK into the parking lot to remove the offensive 14mpg vehicle from the premises. Hilarious!!!

I just want people to do things that make sense. This makes no sense.

Especially when you consider that this 24 hour, 110,000 square foot facility, built on what used to be our greenbelt next to a long standing family farm which is now chain restaurants and big box retail, has 400 electric (not corn or dolphin or woodland fairy or hug powered) workout machines, five full size basketball and sports courts, squash courts, four dry and four wet saunas - two of each for both men and women, a spa, a cafe, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, about 40 TVs, and all lit so brightly you can see through your hands.

But, by all means, save two spaces at the front for people whose vehicles run on hemp so that you get some sort of credits in environmental heaven.

So I pulled my little car into that fuel efficient spot, wishing it were emitting something, and snapped a pic for you. Then I put on my earphones to mask the hum coming from the glowing mega gym, popped on my sunglasses to shield me from the blinding lights, and spent more than a few kilowatts working out, playing basketball and hanging out in the sauna.

Good thing making a bunny doesn't hurt the environment.Wanna see my fuel efficient low emission carpooling bunnies? Head over to Project Reanimate or click the picture! This project was made with Suiboku clear stamps by Kodomo - they gave me some stamps to design with at CHA and I love these images, especially the bunnies.

Happy Sunday!

What I'm Celebrating Today

I, and my coworkers, are celebrating today. No, it's not Valentine's Day that is the center of our happiness today.

We have suffered through about 8,500 (per day) Vermont Teddy Bear and Pajama Gram ads. For my feelings on Pajama Grams, click here.

Let me share my feelings on Vermont Teddy bear, and the marketing of this product. I'd share the ad itself, but I love and respect you too much.

Clearly, the people in the ad work in the porn industry. Not really sure what other type of business would have this weird assortment of undershirt wearing men with sunglasses on their heads and cell phones from 1980 working with the Cleavage Sisters. Maybe I'm crazy.

The squealing over the bear in a box is enough to make you kill yourself with your stapler, even if you're in a profitable stock trade.

Then, after this ad that I swear lasts 45 minutes and makes me want to get out the Slap Chop, in a parting insult, there's the lifetime guarantee on the bear. Guaranteed to what? Annoy your wife for 50 years? Remind her of the sleazy women on the ad for life? Remind her that you work in porn and ordered it in your undershirt one day with your sunglasses on your head?

I don't like any of that.

My antidote is a clean, simple card, with no sleazy overtones. :)

I made this with two punches. The Full Heart Punch from SU - which I punched a Very Vanilla heart with and popped up on a vanilla card with dimensionals - and my Martha butterfly punch.

I took the teeny butterflies from this punch and my Raspberry Tart DSP, and attached them to the heart with a mini glue dot that I rolled into a snake to fit on the teeny butterfly.

Then I added some of the sassy new Ribbon originals and stamped my greeting in black.

I hope you have a great Valentine's Day, free of infomercials!

Ghettopress - Part II + Cat Tricks

Yes, more ghettopress. One of the things I like about letterpress is the combination of plain debossing with printed debossing, so that's what I tried to create here.

I used a different debossing method here to give you a different option, so check it out, then stay tuned for Splotch antics. People have been clamoring for the kitties!!

Okay, begin the same way we began yesterday's card. Punch a heart out of a post it note and then use it as a mask. I added a few more post its to make sure I didn't go past the mask with my stamping and sponging.

I sponged Pixie Pink in the mask, and then stamped the spiral from Trendy Trees.

Next, I punched the same shape heart out of a scrap of cardstock, and applied Dotto and placed this on top of my sponged and stamped image, being careful to precisely cover the heart. Then, turn the card over, and from the INSIDE of the card, trace the edges of the punched cardstock card. This creates debossing on the front of the card, or a recessed heart. Use both the fine and wider ends of the stylus to get good definition.
Then, to create debossed hearts that are not inked, I punched three of the smaller hearts from cardstock and affixed them to the front of my card with Dotto. Again, flip to the inside of the card, feel for the edges of the hearts, and trace them firmly with your stylus.

That gives you these sassy debossed/recessed teeny hearts above your first one.
Then, just add a strip of Pixie Pink, scallop border punched, and some ribbon and you have a SASSMASTER card!! I used one of the greetings from Trendy Trees in Basic Black.

Speaking of sassmaster, let's talk about Splotchito.

He's "special." He, like a border collie, needs to be challenged. In laywoman's terms, this means "PAY ATTENTION TO ME OMG PLEASE PLAY WITH ME OMG I AM GOING TO SCRATCH THE WALL AND YIP AND BARK AND SQUEAK WHERE ARE YOU PLEASE PLAY PLEASE THROW THE BALL OMG PLEASE REALLY PLEASE NO PAY ATTENTION TO ME."

Really. (S)he barks and squeaks every second that you are not focused on entertainment.

So we have invented some coyote games for our little coyote.

One involves throwing a ball against the wall and having Splotch do agility trials.

Check it out.

Oh wait - first (s)he wants to show you the latest in kitty legwarmers. He loves his little kitty Uggs that the vet gave him during his spay. Here he is dribbling the ball before the setup.

Now, the Yoga Jump. He invented this technique.
Now the running dribble.
Now - didn't I tell you she was a bat? She hasn't grown into THOSE GIANT FANGS YET!!! I'M A LITTLE SKRD.
Tomorrow - a new valentine technique!!

Ghettopress - the Tutorial

Am I the only person who has read Thomas Pynchon's "The Crying of Lot 49?"
Just in case I am, let me illustrate the theme of the book with letterpress, which is all the rage right now. I'm sure if you've been to one of my webinars, and seen my subscriptions, you already know this. I love the look of letterpress.

And, as a compulsive stamper personality, when I love some technique, I immediately have to purchase everything remotely associated with executing the technique. So I, of course, set out to buy myself a letterpress. This is where it gets all Pynchon-y.

Start with Google. Sounds easy enough, right? I'm a Google QUEEEEEEN. My veins are filled with a Googlie substance. I live for all things Google and am a search master. Until the letterpress.

Go ahead. Try to buy one.

You will find bazillions of sites with obscure references to these presses - the tabletop and full size versions. But they are strangely and uniformly vague. Most direct you back to a single, omnipressy site, which is itself vague and laden with insider talk and has circular links that go nowhere.

This is an ancient and clandestine art. Should I choose to follow the little posthorn signs, like in The Crying of Lot 49, there's a small chance I might end up in a junkyard in Gilroy, CA, making a deal with a man with one eye, who only speaks in James Joyce verse and is accompanied by an anteater wearing a bellman's cap.

But I have no patience for such things. I am a stamper. I need to order things and expedite shipping. I need to go to my nearest store and pick up urgently needed crafty things. I have no time for Pynchon anymore.

So I made my own damn letterpress. What do you think about that? I call it the ghettopress.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, letterpress is a combination of printing and debossing. These two steps are separate. So you print in one step in the elusive machine, and deboss in another.

After spending a quarter of a million dollars and staring at an anteater. Or, just do this.

Punch yourself a template out of a post-it note. I used the full heart punch.

Lay this down on your card and stamp or sponge something in it.

I stamped Park Avenue Patterns (see Jenn? :) ) in Pacific Point Blue. Say THAT three times fast.

Then, I sponged more blue around the edges, because the stamp isn't quite big enough to completely fill the heart.

Gently trace the outline of the heart with your embossing stylus until you can see it on the inside of the card.

Then make yourself a recession letterpress ghetto template. I did this by taking three scraps with the heart already punched out of it that were lying all over my desk, and sticking them together.

On the back of the ghettopress, I used Dotto to temporarily hold it to my card. Put this on the INSIDE of your card, lining it up with the faint outline.

Go back to the front of your card and begin debossing. I made the edges with my stylus to get the lines sharp and did the inside with my Empressor. What is cool is after you deboss for a while the paper gets very shiny, like little anteater eyes.

It's really a cool technique, and has all sass of letterpress with none of the one eyed glaring.

More on this technique tomorrow, or possibly tonight, as I heart it up on the way into Valentine's Day!

Cookies, Webinar Updates, and an $856 billion dollar giveaway!!

I know you're going to skip everything and go right to the free $856 billion dollars, but here I go anyway.

1) My Favorite Girl Scout cookie is the Thin Mint. I think it's awfully convenient that the GSA puts them a single serving to a box! Thanks Girl Scouts!! It's the perfect amount - two sleeves of thin mints. :) I will say, my other fave they don't make anymore. It was the shortbread cookie with a lemon cream filling that I could eat until I couldn't feel my tongue anymore. I'm very sad those are gone.

2) My Google Reader Webinar is tonight at 7 PM CST. If you are already registered and paid, you just received an email from me. If you are registered and paid but DIDN'T receive an email from me, please email me. If you're not registered yet and would like to join us, I'd love to spend 45 minutes with you teaching you how to organize all your favorite blogs in Google Reader, retrieve them by keywords FOREVER, and never have another email blog subscription again! Check my sidebar to register.

3) My blogger webinar is on the horizon also - and I would like to try Sunday, Feb. 22 at 7 PM CST - does this work for everyone? If you are registered, please let me know if this is okay - there are a variety of time zones involved.

4) Now, since the word on the street is that we all have billions of dollars just waiting to be flung around like confetti according to our friends in Washington, I'd like to offer another $856 BILLION dollars to the first person who can do the following:

Write a new programming language.

If you are like me, and you like to hack around in your blog and change your HTML code to do various things, you know that the HTML code for making something red looks like this:

#$%@& - #ff00044 N902)) ?><:{}|| #*&$^

I think you know what I'm going to say next.

THAT'S STUPID.

If Kydia invented her own programming language, here's how you would make something red:

Make it red

Is that such a leap of the imagination?

What freaks were sitting around with a few cans of Tab, some gummi bears and their bellbottoms on going "Okay, if I want to make something red, how can I obscure my desired result to the point that even the NSA would not know that what I in fact wanted was to make something red?? Oh, I know, I'll sit on my keyboard, and whatever my butt types, that will be my code for making things red. Muaaahhhaaaaaaaaa."

Yeah, I'm done with the butt code. $856 billion of grateful consumer blogger dollars await the brilliant Generation Next kids that come up with code we can use.

Thanks next generation!!

Speaking of butts, my sister calls me with her butt all the time. Even though she has a lock on her blackberry, I think her butt knows her password because I get these calls all the time.

Today they made an ad about her.

I LOVE to make a scene!!!

But you knew that already!!!

Welcome to the Blog hop!!! Be sure and visit all the sites below because some of them have PRIZES!!

Today is the day that the new Starving Artistamps Doodle Factory images are released and man, are they FABBY!!!!!

I'm a city girl above all else. I love all the chaos and the sounds and smells and sights. I miss NYC.

So this first one really spoke to me!!

I made a little tribute, in which I am the bird, thinking of big buildings and taxis and hot dogs on the street.

I colored the background with Copics and made the little glow around them with my colorless blender. The greeting is a rubon.

The birdie (me) is popped up with dimensionals. *sigh*

This second one is a teeny model, sort of. Depending on the building, I popped them up with two or three dimensionals so they are all different heights. Cool, huh?

Little Bloop has had his heart stolen by this Rooftops cityscape..

Then I played with the country scene. Still in popup mode, I paper pieced this one and varied the heights of the elements... I loved putting my teeny version of Rupert, who is in love with the sun, into this scene. Could he be any cuter? Looks like the sun loves him back. :)

Okay - time to move on! The next blog in the hop is Andrea's. Click on over to her and see what she's got.
