Cookies, Webinar Updates, and an $856 billion dollar giveaway!!

I know you're going to skip everything and go right to the free $856 billion dollars, but here I go anyway.

1) My Favorite Girl Scout cookie is the Thin Mint. I think it's awfully convenient that the GSA puts them a single serving to a box! Thanks Girl Scouts!! It's the perfect amount - two sleeves of thin mints. :) I will say, my other fave they don't make anymore. It was the shortbread cookie with a lemon cream filling that I could eat until I couldn't feel my tongue anymore. I'm very sad those are gone.

2) My Google Reader Webinar is tonight at 7 PM CST. If you are already registered and paid, you just received an email from me. If you are registered and paid but DIDN'T receive an email from me, please email me. If you're not registered yet and would like to join us, I'd love to spend 45 minutes with you teaching you how to organize all your favorite blogs in Google Reader, retrieve them by keywords FOREVER, and never have another email blog subscription again! Check my sidebar to register.

3) My blogger webinar is on the horizon also - and I would like to try Sunday, Feb. 22 at 7 PM CST - does this work for everyone? If you are registered, please let me know if this is okay - there are a variety of time zones involved.

4) Now, since the word on the street is that we all have billions of dollars just waiting to be flung around like confetti according to our friends in Washington, I'd like to offer another $856 BILLION dollars to the first person who can do the following:

Write a new programming language.

If you are like me, and you like to hack around in your blog and change your HTML code to do various things, you know that the HTML code for making something red looks like this:

#$%@& - #ff00044 N902)) ?><:{}|| #*&$^

I think you know what I'm going to say next.

THAT'S STUPID.

If Kydia invented her own programming language, here's how you would make something red:

Make it red

Is that such a leap of the imagination?

What freaks were sitting around with a few cans of Tab, some gummi bears and their bellbottoms on going "Okay, if I want to make something red, how can I obscure my desired result to the point that even the NSA would not know that what I in fact wanted was to make something red?? Oh, I know, I'll sit on my keyboard, and whatever my butt types, that will be my code for making things red. Muaaahhhaaaaaaaaa."

Yeah, I'm done with the butt code. $856 billion of grateful consumer blogger dollars await the brilliant Generation Next kids that come up with code we can use.

Thanks next generation!!

Speaking of butts, my sister calls me with her butt all the time. Even though she has a lock on her blackberry, I think her butt knows her password because I get these calls all the time.

Today they made an ad about her.

Have you signed up for the UBlue Cyber Club? Attended one of my Webinars?? Come on - get your geek on! :)

  1. First of all, GS Thin Mints are my personal favorite, too, but each box is actually two servings. Each sleeve is a single serving.

Did you know that they make different centers in the Thin Mints, or at least they used to? In the Midwest, from whence I come, the middles were a tan cookie-like substance, while here on the Right Coast they are chocolatey-looking. We had a controlled taste test one year where someone ran around the office with a sleeve of each and we had to decide which one was better. No clear winners, but the cookies disappeared really quickly.

And they do make cheater languages. Sometimes you can say color="blue" instead of color="#ff00044" (or whatever color to which that number converts), but you lose the specific-ness of SHADE of blue. So do I win the bazillion dollars, or were you just kidding?

  2. As a person who makes her living doing html I say keep it the way it is or I'll be out of a job! :-(

    Love the ad...that's funny.

  3. LMAO! OMG, I haven't laughed that hard in a long, long time! You are hilarious. Yes, HTML is the most frustrating language I have ever seen. My HTML for Dummies book is falling apart!

  5. About GS cookies...
Currently in MN we have the Lemon Chalet Cremes. "The height of lemon flavor! Uniquely designed to feature Our Chalet, this delicious vanilla sandwich has a hint of cinnamon-ginger spice and a refreshing zesty lemon creme filling."

    My DD is a GS.

About Thin Mints in WI when I was a child. The thin mint had a white minty filling on a wafer and covered in chocolate. They were the best, IMHO.

    Have a good week.

  6. You are too funny !!!!! I wish things were easier too. Like we don't have enough to worry about. I have a hard enough time with English.

I'm good for the Sunday 2/22 class.
    Thanks

  7. Finally, some kindred souls that understand that a box of Thin Mints=One delicious, perfect serving. Especially with an ice cold glass of milk. Now tell me that you have put them in the freezer before and eaten them that way...right?

The year I was pregnant the GSA hit the mother load with me and the cookies. I don't know exactly how many I bought, but I know I filled my freezer with them and was still eating them around Thanksgiving. I believe I might have threatened the DH's life if he went near them...

I give up on the HTML code. When it gets beyond "Ctrl+i" I just give up. I am telling Little Miss about your $856 gazillion offer though, let's see what she comes up with. Have a great one!

  8. Too funny! I'd like to add my name to the list of Thin Mint lovers... they are my favorite too!

I don't even begin to know how HTML works and what all those codes really mean. I'm just thankful for the templates and other features on blogspot that does the behind the scene coding for me. Otherwise, I wouldn't have a blog.

I'm so glad your email post drew my attention and I clicked to see your blog... that video is hillareous! Thanks for always being there to provide me with my daily dose of laughs. :)

  9. I love the Thin Mints too... You might want to try the Lemonades that the Girl Scouts sell in TX. It is a BIG shortbread cookie imprinted with a slice of a lemon and on the bottom is a tangy lemon icing.
I didn't know what they were a first and another GS mom said they were selling really well so I bought a box to eat at home and they are pretty good.
Now the boxes of Thin Mints are calling my name and my littlest is asleep, so he won't see my practice self control so I won't eat the whole sleeve of them.

  10. You're so lucky that the Girl Scout cookies come in so many different flavours in the US. In Canada, we only have a mixed box of chocolate & vanilla in the spring and chocolate mint cookies in November. I was in Buffalo shopping one time when the GS were selling cookies and I bought one of everything!!!

  11. Yep...the Thin Mints are my absolute fav as well. And yes, 1 serving per box, even better when stored in the freezer. Yum! Oh and BTW, love the ad, I managed to catch it the other night on the tube. Have a wonderful day! Oh and my security word..."codazi" as in "The couch sure is codazi".. :)

  12. Add me to the list of Thin Mint lovers too! Try putting some in the blender with vanilla ice cream! YUM! AND this year our regional GSA is doing a drawing for A YEAR'S WORTH OF COOKIES! That's 51 boxes of Thin Mints for me and 1 box of Peanut Butter Patties for DH! LOL

As for the HTML thing, I'm with you! Make it more like Word and I'm good. Until then, I call Mommy! LOL She's my "webmaster"!

  13. I am eternally grateful to you for providing me with a Thin Mint eaters support group and so many laughs.
The fun stamp projects are icing! Thank you!
Now - am I the only one who tries to decipher the word verification code? I mean what man comes up with raffsran?
