VIDEO: Easy Die Cut Ornaments + New Class

In a HUGE plot twist - I'm going to be showing you mostly 3D projects today - I'll wait while you faint! I went on a bit of an ornament binge this week, but in classic me style, I'm doing it with dies that are meant for tags.

Here is where we have a confession time. I love to MAKE tags, but I never use them on presents. I usually stick them in my art journal or give them away on my Buy Nothing group.

I am THAT PERSON who writes on wrapped gifts with a sharpie. Not even kidding!

I do not have a gift of making presents pretty - I stick mostly to 2D.

So when I saw these adorable holiday character tag dies in this month's kit, I ran with the fact that they have the perfect little hangers to use for ornaments.

My friend Amy sent me the sheet music, so I cut that with infinity dies, and glued it to cardstock cut with the same die. Then I colored the die cuts with pigment markers (I have an upcoming class on these + a discount code here) to give them a folk art look, and used the stamps in the kit to add textures. I glued the characters down, and then added champagne glass glitter around the edge of each ornament.

Here's what the full kit looks like.

I decided to try these dies with felt too for an ornament, and look how cute this blue eyed Santa is! PS - never use big box felt for die cutting - I get my wool felt here - wool felt is the only felt that will give you these crisp results.

Because the felt is so soft, I reinforced the back with holiday glitter paper - I used the oval infinity dies for behind the face, and small circle punches to reinforce the hanger. Looks so cute on the back, and it's nice and sturdy.

I did make ONE project that wasn't an ornament today! I used this stunning fireplace die - I colored it with the pigment markers to look like wood, and then rubbed it with gold wax - I love how realistic and vintage it looks!

Then I used this awesome layering fire image and Copics to build a fire. The background stamp for the "wallpaper" is this cling.

Finally - I made one last ornament with this awesome layering greeting set, and the new poinsettia set - you will learn how to do this ornament in the pigment marker class!

Here are all the add-ons! I'll have a post soon with Cozy Winter!

Here's my video for the tags turned ornaments.
