I'm shaker impaired. I've admitted that on many occasions, so no need to act surprised! So I was so excited to see this My Favorite Things video by Mindy. She learned this trick from others, but I learned it from that video, so that's where I'm linking you. Technique genealogy is hard LOL.
Anyway - what I'm terrible at is making the foam tape nice and neat, not getting sequins all over the foam, and then getting the back of the shaker part straight. BASICALLY EVERYTHING TO DO WITH A SHAKER. Earlier this year, I found a product I LOVE - these simple shaker sleeves that do the same thing I'm doing today, but what I love about today's card is that it's very painful for me to just put alllllllll those plastic sleeves in the recycle bin when I file my stamps. It hurts my heart.
So today I put those to good use with this technique!
The video for this card includes the full process of creating the background, and then the simple shaker process. The background was made with Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade and Tumbled Glass ink, this script stamp and my favorite gold splattering ink. The silhouette botanicals are from this set and then I used this fall collection glitter paper and this word die. The two sequin mixes are this fall-ish one and this blue to try to pick up colors in the background. You will need a strong double sided adhesive.
Here are the other three card panels I made with the background technique all in one session - I was working on the backgrounds for all four at the same time as you will see. I love these botanicals. So classic. Reminds me of a LOT of stamps I had in the late 1900's that I gravitated to over and over. Some things never change, right? I feel like I will always be drawn to the type of imaged I imprinted on like a baby duck. OH - speaking of baby ducks - check out this sweet video.

Today is my allergy shot day - YAY - for some reason this month everything was blooming hard. I never normally feel a thing because of my shots but when it's crazy high it will break through so I'm always happy to go get a little boost or four.
Hard to believe Halloween is almost here, but we can definitely feel it in the weather this year, and my squirrels are hiding food like crazy.
