Retro Mod Christmas Inspiration

One of my fave sort of mid-century color combos for Christmas is aqua and pink. I know that freaks some people out to depart from holiday traditions for cards, but it's my comfort zone.

It's also been such a weird weather year, lots of rain and grey days, that I've gravitated towards brighter holiday cards, starting with Halloween, and transitioning to the winter holidays.

I even have already bought a few gifts, which is not like me at ALL - we don't even do holiday gifts, so the holiday spirit may be descending early. Or maybe it's the fact that we keep talking about Krampus on my Facebook lives!

Anyway, my intention with this superhero talk bubble stencil was to make a comic style card, but then I noticed that the large talk bubble in the set looked JUST like modern holly leaves!

So I used Wild Dandelion, Aquamarine and Passionate Pink to ink blend the background, and then I made two darker pink leaves in the foreground and added three silver glitter paper berries I made with a circle punch between them, and used the fine tip of a matching Graphit marker to draw super mod veins on the leaves.

Isn't it fun & mod? The stamp set for the Hey You is this one, and then I added the Christmas sentiment from this set. I'll be back with the comic style card I planned on when this overtook me!
