You're my Favorite Weirdo + Giveaway

Happy Friday! Today I'm reviving an OLD technique I haven't done in a while, and teasing a new technique! I have not had time to edit the video for the background on this card yet, but it's coming soon, I'll promise!

This month's stamp club set is a hoot - adorable little monsters. I've had this for about a month - sheesh - where is September going?

The background die is amazing - it EXACTLY fits a mini slimline card, which I was psyched about. One of the little known facts about mini-slim cards is that they fit through your die cutting machine OPEN. So I was able to die cut just the front of the card with the circle die. I trimmed down the background from the mystery technique and glued that behind the die cut front of the card.

Then I stamped and die cut the monster, and colored JUST the green parts with Graphit markers in two greens.

Next - I applied blending solution to a piece I cut off a washcloth, and briefly pressed it on the monster to give him his gnarly skin texture. Then I filled in his tongue and belly with a marker I matched to the background so that those parts were smooth. When you do this, just be sure you don't hold the rag on there too long - or the color will start to bleed outside the image. Just a quick press. The sentiment is from the same bundle. I have a lot of favorite weirdos though! Not just you!

  3. I just learned-I never thought using a washcloth for texture-cool! :D

Sadly I can't do the hop. At least one person's site is using Word Press and I dont want to open an account just to comment and it wants in on my FB account so that's out. :(
