Well a few times I've done that I thought that the patterns were actually beautiful and might make a fun technique, so that's what I'm bringing you today, and I do have a video below for you.
To create both cards today, I'm using the fabulous new watercolor brush markers from Altenew. They have such vibrant colors and are a lot of fun to paint with, as you'll see.
First, I stamped the rose image from this stamp set and made sure that was dry. Then I quickly painted around the rose with the Ruby Red watercolor marker. While it was still wet, I dropped in Citrus Burst to create the mottling. Then I just added a glitter paper die cut from this bundle.
I cut those out with the matching dies, and glued them onto a script background from this pack. Then I added a die cut from this bundle again.

Also, I have a question. A couple years back, you did a video where you decoupaged little squares of tissue paper in blues and greens on a glass candle holder. I loved it so much I went out and got all the supplies to do it!

I love the look of watercolor, but it scares me to death. I can never get the light blending around the background object. I always have lines.

ReplyDeleteAs for what I need help with, that's a tough one. Mostly I know I need to practice more with watercolor, so that's step one. But I guess something I do have trouble with is getting nice depth. I think I'm using too much water, so everything blends out into one pretty flat midtone.
