Paper Piecing = Paper Quilting - Quick Die Cut Cards

Happy Caturday! I'm doing everything in my power to avoid doing my taxes, so the upside is, you get a couple cards! 

Today's cards are all about paper piecing, but in a quilting format with some fun new quilting style dies. You know I love regular paper piecing, but if a die does half the work for me - sign me up!

This first card uses the quilting dies in the chevron pattern - and I cut the chevrons and individually sprayed them with acrylic sprays in a rainbow pattern. The base die cuts the pattern that you can add the pieces to, so everything is perfectly aligned - I love it. It's Lydia-proof.

Now the next one I went a bit rogue on. I used my pen knife to cut along the stitched lines of the quilt cover die - the stitch marks make it impossible to cut crooked! It's amazing. I have never thought of doing that before and I'm going to try it with other stitched cover plates!

I glued a Gel Press print behind the die cut card front and added this skinny hello cut from the neutrals glitter paper. 

Because I had cut those little shapes out, I could fit them perfectly into a die cut with the same die but on white - I know the pattern is hard to see on the black, so here you can get a better look at what this die does. I just glued the black pieces in place and added this sassy sentiment that has a matching die. FUN.

What are you up to this weekend? I made some more tofu, and I'll be making pimiento cheese for the final round at the Master's! I am making a dairy version and a non-dairy for me - wish me luck, because the vegan cheese I've made it with before is no longer being made - boo.

It's still strawberry season here, so I'll be making more of my "not jam" to have with yogurt. Then I suppose I'll have to give in and do my taxes - UGH.
