Hello from freezing and powerless Texas! There's literally no one more ready for spring than my state, so today's springy cards are just what I need!

Today is the release of the new Hero Arts catalog, and because I have no idea how long I will have electricity - I'm going to link you to the entire collection, where you can see everything I'm using today. When I was creating these a few months ago, I had springy weather and not a polar vortex! So I'm happy to see these fun images today, with the promise of warmer days to come.

First - I have to share my favorite card from the whole collection. I freaking LOVE this frog set - OMG. It's so danged cute. I built a blue Texas sky with Hero Hues ink, using direct to paper, and then finger painted fluffy clouds with white acrylic paint. I used my circle infinity dies to cut a piece of watercolor paper for the earth, and then watercolored it with Daniel Smith watercolor. The froggy set does come with dies, but I close cut this little guy with scissors and had him staring up at the cloud and OMG I love it. I sent this card to Libby, but I will be making more because it's just so fun.

Next there is the SUPER fun balloon window die! I took a UFO background that I did with watercolor, and die cut the frame. I added shadows to the balloon with Graphit Markers (coupon in the footer) and used this Happy word die and the sentiment from Irreverent Birthday Messages.

There are TONS of big dies that make super quick and easy cards in this catalog. Here I used just two dies - this gorgeous window fancy die and the Big Hugs die. the colorful UFO was an alcohol ink background from my stash.

Same with this card - this happy birthday cover die makes such quick and cute cards. I used this rainbow paper and turned this into a shaker card, putting foam strips between each word so that each one had shiny stuff in them.

It's no secret that I love infinity dies - and these new smaller sets they have are KILLING me - so much fun to layer up. I colored white die cuts in a rainbow with my Graphit markers and added the die cut from the Love You dies, and the sentiment from the matching stamp set.

Here is a link to the full collection, as well as a few other supplies I used today.

  15. Wow! Such beautiful cards! Oh, I am sitting here wishing blue skies and warm skies and WATER for you as quickly as possible! That first card makes me all sorts of happy.
