VIDEO: Tips for Masking & Reverse Masking + Coupon Codes

I'm not one of those people that masking came naturally to.

When I first tried it, I remember making impossible scenes where the things in the back were supposed to be in the front etc. or things looked like they were floating off whatever they were supposed to be sitting on.

One of the things that's challenging about just arranging your scene to begin masking is that stacking the stamps on top of each other - photopolymer stamps - doesn't really get you an accurate picture of what the final scene will look like.

So I have a very simple fix for you today in my video where I created this little sushi scene with regular masking and reverse masking. The stamp set is called Soy Awesome, and it has matching dies, not used here. The reverse masking on the soy sauce container is this adorable Waves & Clouds Bold Prints stamp, stamped through the reverse mask in Indigo ink. Then I replaced the masks and used Life changing blender brushes and brushed Dandelion Ink through this honeycomb stencil for an accent strip vertically, since the rest of the scene was SO horizontal. The elements were simply colored with Copics. This is the masking paper I use - it's the least expensive option out there.

So want to see the tips? So simple and makes such a difference! Here you go!

  2. Your tutorials are amazing. Thank you for sharing. Today you are also my "the universe provides" person as I was just trying to remember what kind of masking paper would be a good one to buy. Yay! It really is the little things. 🙂
