Background Stamp Hack with Dies & Your MISTI

I always forget to share my simplest hacks, because I use them so often, I assume everyone already knows them. But then I will talk about them at a class and people tell me they don't know - so I feel compelled to share.

I have what I consider a great hack for using large background stamps with precision in your MISTI, so I have a video on that for you below. You just need these infinity dies, a 6x6 background (or larger) and your MISTI. Today I used this gorgeous parasol pattern bold print stamp, and a few Distress Oxide blue inks to create a subtly variegated background using the technique. That's the backdrop for this sweet as pie little Kittens in Kimonos set, which I stamped and cut out with the matching dies, colored her with Copics and put her on a circle cut with my circle infinity dies. I used several sizes with the same dies to punch out circles with the Pumpkin cardstock I used for the card base. The sentiment is from the same set.

Check out this awesome trick in the video! Supplies and active coupon codes below!

  2. Great tip. After I have done alcohol ink backgrounds on Yupo and they have dried for days. I put foil on them by putting the inked yupo piece thru the laminator like you were foiling on any other piece of paper. And it foils you the yupo!!!

  3. OH MY GOODNESS!!! Thank you so much for this background stamp hack. Such a simple idea, but it never even crossed my mind. Not only is this great for background stamps, but I have been trying to figure out how to let my granddaughter use the Misti without having to use the magnets..and this is it!! No more trying to tape the card blank down to the Misti base. Bloggers like you make it so easy for the rest of us to enjoy stamping...and I appreciate you so much.
