Hey (H)ombre!

It's so cool when little waves of things - most of which you've seen in the past - come through the arty crafty world as new trends.

Somehow they are all sparkly and fun again, and people find new and fun things to do with them that make you think - why didn't I do this before?

I remember when I first started stamping how one of the things I was most in love with was those Spectrum pads - especially the blue one. I think I stamped every card for a year in those nice gradient inks.

Well now that's back, with a new name - ombre. See how they did that? They're all - ooh, look at this fun, stylish name we have now for something you did in 1998! :)

It happens to be incredibly beautiful in all sorts of techniques - brayering, sponging, etc. - and gave me the itch to try ombre-ing our flower trim.

And I love it!!! I used Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point and Midnight muse and a sponge dauber - took about 20 seconds. I added some of our Delicate Details Lace Tape and a greeting from Word Play.

See? Everything old is new again.

And not just because we're getting senile :).

Loveyameanitbye.

  2. I still HAVE my Spectrum pads, and I'm hanging onto them - you never know, right? I love your "ombre" look! I need to get out those gorgeous flowers and give that a try! Thanks for all the inspiration, Lydia!
