That Deep, Russian Blue...

You know, the Russians "get" blue. Second only to the Japanese, probably. So when I saw this incredibly, stunningly beautiful little Matryoshka set, the color scheme was a no brainer.

I colored the little gorgeous, perfect, nesting dolls with Copics, and arranged them on kraft cardstock.
I filled in the border stamp with my white gel pen, and I dotted the punched border as well with my white pen.

Wait - border? What border? OH... the border I PUNCHED with this??Let's talk about "this." I got some new bookcases, because my studio is out of control, and thanks to Cheshire Kitten, I found out they were cheap enough to be worth the reorg. Thankfully, my sister goes to Ikea daily, because I have shopophobia and cannot do it.

I'm dragging this out because of the ending. So humor me. On the day I had my Dirty Dozen Fan Club gallery deadline, I decided we should put the bookcases together and I should reorganize my whole studio. Because NO ONE procrastinates like me.

Part of the reorg was opening a Stampin' Up! box I'd had for a month and didn't have time to open.
Meaning, I didn't have time to see that I had ordered like a squillion things in duplicate.

OMG. So embarassed. But, my embarassment is your gain.

So here's the deal.

Every day until I give it all away, I'm giving out some big ticket items I have, er, more than one of.

I'm starting with the scallop border punch I used on this card.

Want it?

Well all you have to do is make me laugh in a comment. (keep it clean! :) ) After all, it is...There is going to be a new crazy challenge until all my extra stuff is gone, so tell me...

Do you feel lucky??

  3. When I feel 100 percent, I'm soooo floating up in my hot air balloon to knock all the stuff off the Ikea shelves.

  4. If you procrastinate long enough, does it all go away? I think I need to become a procrastinator. I work with one and they seem to get away with alot. Not that you do...I'm just saying people avoid the person because they procrastinate.

Ok...time to go to bed. Shouldn't have takent the sleeping pill before I left this message!

  5. So I thought this was funny today. My 9 year old daughter calls me at work to tell me about the "fancy kleenex" that we got in the mail today. I told her she could take it to school. Then my husband got on the phone and told me that it was actually a sample of "panty kleenex" - yes, you know what I mean - she's seen it on tv but we've not discussed it because I think she should be a kid as long as she can. So she won't be taking the fancy kleenex to school any time soon! have a great week!

  9. I already *have* the matryoshka stamp set AND the scallop punch, and the corner punch that goes with it! And many, many unopened boxes similar to yours. I don't want to open them and find duplicates, so they stay closed. *sigh* That makes me sad, so now I need to go shopping...

  10. Being the good girl that I am, I will admit that I already have the scalloped border punch so this story is merely for your entertainment. Of course, if this makes you laugh so hard that coffee comes out of your nose and you have some other goodie laying around that you think I would like... Well, who would I be to say no? ;-)

I was taking my darling daughter out to eat one day and because the weather was warm I told her that she could wear her sandals instead of the tennis shoes that she has been wearing daily. She comes out of her room wearing a cute little top, jeans, and sandals that show off her purple-pedicured piggies.

Then, she looks at me and says, "You know what I like about wearing shoes like this? They make me look at least 7-years old, maybe even 8!" (Because, you know, "six" is so yesterday.)

Thus begins mommy's travels into professional hair coloring and really good wine...the teen years are coming like a freight train.

Hope you have a great (sorry it's rainy) day!

  11. Okay, I really don't have a funny story (plus I just ordered a second of these punches because I've been using it in so many of my classes), but I had to ask. You had a Stampin' Up! box for a MONTH and YOU DIDN'T OPEN IT?!?!?!?!?!?! I can see a day or two, if I'm busy or distracted, but a MONTH?!?!?! What's up, girl?

  13. Hi, Lydia, hope this makes you laugh:

    > I thought that maybe if I acted 'Crazy' then he would tell me to take a few days off.
    > So I hung upside-down on the ceiling and made funny noises.
    > My co-worker (who's blonde) asked me what I was doing.
    > I told her that I was pretending to be a light bulb so that the Boss might think I was 'Crazy' and give me a few days off.
    > A few minutes later the Boss came into the office and asked, 'What in the

    > I told him I was a light bulb.
    > He said, 'You are

    > I jumped down and walked out of the office...

  14. Wow! Such a beautiful card! I LOVE what you did with the border and how you coloured the dolls! Hmm...now I'm thinking I should've ordered this set!

Here are a couple of St Paddy's jokes:

Q:What do you call a fake stone in Ireland?
    A: A sham rock. :-P

Q: What is out on the lawn all summer and is Irish?
    A: Paddy O'Furniture!

    Thanks for this chance!

  15. Well don't pick me! I already have two of these. (Ok, on purpose, but still...) I remember when you first posted that card. It made me order the stamp set. Of course you had a close up of the card so I had no idea I was going to need a magnifying glass to color it in with!! (Yes, I wear bifocals, so what?!) Oh, the funny story? If you insist. My friend told me she kept smelling something awful in her house and couldn't find it no matter how she looked. She decided something must have died between the walls and she'd have to wait it out. A day or so later she went to water her hanging plants and discovered a present from her beautiful "Bastet" amongst the plants. In its previous incarnation it was a bird. She called for her husband to remove it. Being shoeless he merely placed it on the back patio until later when he had shoes on. Fast forward - my friend comes upstairs from the basement to find the dog in the middle of the sofa, enjoying a nummy treat of very dead bird. She had to either laugh or clobber the cat, the dog, and the husband!!

  16. This card is fa-u-lous! I got nothin' either but my vote (not that it counts) so far is for Mary Dawn - she made me laugh out loud :oD Where will those little dollies sleep tonight??

  17. I've also got nothin', and I'm okay with that cuz I already HAVE one of those punches, and I don't want another one, or *I* would need to have a give-away, and I ain't got the time.

I applaud your procrastination accomplishment! I would soooooo have waited until the day of a deadline to build furniture and re-org my craft room! Totally.

  18. not even trying to make you laugh cause I already got one of these myself, just wanted to say you made me smile knowing that I'm not the only one who orders boxes of SU and leaves them sealed up b/c I don't have time to look at them only to open them up at a later date and find DUPLICATES!!!! Ugh!!! and the sad part is my impatient self usually expedites them b/c it takes a full week to get from SU to NJ and I have no patience!!!! It's a sickness I tell you.....but one I have no intention of searching out a cure for :)
