What If You Loved Like Steve Jobs?

No matter what you're reading this on, you have to admit - Steve Jobs has changed the world.

Probably the business leader I admire most, this man has defined innovation in my lifetime.

But as much as I love the creativity, and my Ipod and those crazy beautiful thin laptops and the white glow of the Apple Store, you know what I REALLY love?

I love how much he LOVES those things.

How do I know he loves them?

Because every touch is beautiful. The box. The advertising. The icons. The stores. The abandonment of every traditional marketing strategy for lavish adoration of the product in every possible medium. I love this love. It's at the heart of his greatness and it is love that makes Apple great.

So I have a card, and two videos for you to illustrate this love.

First - the card. The colors are new (Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay), the owl is new (Animal Stories) and the ribbon is new. The greeting, is from Love Owlways - retired, but exactly what I wanted to say today. It is possible to love something into perfection. And that's just what he has done.

So two videos. The first one is to show you what the same great product would be without the love - it's hilarious. So here you go - if you don't see a video here, click over to the blog.

The second is a look inside the heart of this great man.

I love him - he's perfect. :)

Don't forget - it's Make Me Laugh Monday!! Leave a comment on this post that makes me laugh the hardest and win a prize!!

I have to say, you guys made it really hard on me last Monday. I'm going to have to ponder some more and let you know the winner of last week's tomorrow. It's hard to pick between the kitten snatcher, the bottomless trampoliner, mooning a train, barking at your butt, Eskimo jokes, kidnappings and walking toilets. I'M JUST SAYIN.

XO,

me

Have you signed up for the UBlue Cyber Club? Attended one of my Webinars?? Come on - get your geek on! :)

  1. Hey girl! Love the card, as usual. This one might not win, but it will make you giggle! Little Miss loves the LOLCats, and every day when I get the email of them she makes me read every single one to her. Even when she doesn't get the joke, she always laughs and enjoys the cute pictures. Well, this weekend she was sitting in my lap as we read your blog, and she sees your "Caturday" picture. A little later on she walks up to me and says, "Mom, do you know what you get when you mix a cat with a weekend? CATURDAY!"

She made me laugh, and when I did, she tells me, "I just made that one up by myself."

My word of the day is "fushi". I think that is a sign that we need to go to Uchi very, very soon.

  3. Got one for ya but will type it in after I get Kelly from Girl Scout camp later this afternoon.

Just want to let you know right now that Cletus did this (the story that i will write later) not me. Cletus ALWAYS gets blamed for the gross and stupid stuff that Lisa does!

And yes, i have web browser on my phone. I think i can figure out how to Twitter on my phone. I just have to take the time to do it! It's all Cletus' fault!

BTW, LUV the new In-Colors- Luv what you have been doing with them and LUV the pics. of the soap yesterday. Am growing lavender in my garden and might try to attempt soap-making with that if Cletus doesn't stop me.

  4. Love the card, I have that set ordered, can't wait until Thursday when my order is scheduled to come in. Here is my funny:

An ATF officer stops at a ranch in Texas and talks with an old rancher.
He tells the rancher, 'I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs.'
The old rancher says, 'Okay, but don't go in that field over there.'
The ATF officer verbally explodes saying, 'Mister! I have the authority of The Federal Government with me!' Reaching into his rear pants pocket and removing his badge, the officer proudly displays it to the farmer. 'See this badge? This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish..on any land! No questions asked or answers given. Have I made myself clear? Do you understand?'

The old rancher nods politely and goes about his chores.
Later, the old rancher hears loud screams and spies the ATF officer running for his life and close behind is the rancher's bull. With every step the bull is gaining ground on the officer. The officer is clearly terrified. The old rancher immediately throws down his tools, runs to the fence and yells at the top of his lungs.....

'Your Badge! Show Him Your Badge!!!

  5. Wow - the jobs talk was powerful and meaningful. Maybe... just maybe there is meaning behind having to rebuild my life for the second time now. Maybe I will be able to connect the dots years from now. I sure hope so.

And lol - the MS vid is SO TRUE. As a 2x consultant to Microsoft, I can absolutely verify the accuracy of said representation. In meetings, I would sometimes blurt out, "We need more acronyms!" Everyone would laugh, but we all knew it was true.

Thanks for bringing such good stuff to your blog. (and thanks for the vids, too! *smile*)

  7. So...
Last summer, we went to see Madagascar 2. Don't know if you've seen it, but there's one part where there's like 10 000 monkeys building a plane. My 4 year old leans over, and says (very loudly) "Now there's something you don't see every day."
It was quiet around us for about 3 seconds, then all the adults sitting there laughed their heads off.
    It was funny.

So INCREDIBLY thankful for MMLM - on Friday.
