It's called A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Devereaux.

It's about a pathetic (pitiful/nary a backbone really) schoolteacher who takes a trip to England which is supposed to be a romantic vacation - and she gets left there. She cries on the grave of an Earl from the 16th century who was executed for treason, and he comes to life. Imagine the follies as he experiences the here and now.. and then circumstances have it that she ends up traveling back in time to his day, but she has memory on her side, and solves the mystery of his (erroneous) execution. Of course, in the process, she also grows the long lost backbone - and having been a part of history, of course she leaves her mark and changes things for the better in HER lifetime.. ;)

Of course there's too much sappy lovey dovey stuff in it, but it is one I just have to read over and over again and can NOT seem to part with! Trust me, READ it. Even if you don't like romance novels. The historical angle is interesting enough. LOL!

Thanks for keeping us updated on Convention!Erica W.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10885789734307038209noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798914461149907138.post-48254687924152354352010-07-24T12:19:33.034-05:002010-07-24T12:19:33.034-05:00Gosh, that's hard, to pick just one! I have a soft spot for hand puppets as well, so I'm glad you shared that pendant alligator. I am making this recommendation with your favorite book list in mind, because I don't want to be held responsible for you reading Twilight. So with that said... I would recommend Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk. He is absolutely my favorite author and I love everything he writes, but I must warn you he is not for the faint of heart. His tales are very off-the-wall and will keep you guessing as to what's really happening. He brings social commentary to a new level. If you have not read anything by him, this is the book I would start with. He is most well known for writing Fight Club, but please do not let the movie dissuade you and if you liked the movie well me too!The Crafty Badgernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798914461149907138.post-31821059633976229952010-07-23T23:42:32.099-05:002010-07-23T23:42:32.099-05:00A Prayer for Owen Meany - John Irving - an oldie, ...A Prayer for Owen Meany - John Irving - an oldie, but a goodie.
