You Don't Have to Have All the Answers...

You don't, you know.

For example, Pi. What is it and why do we care about something with an unnecessarily large decimal footprint?

Sometimes the question is stupid and makes you giggle and get kicked out of chemistry. I got kicked out of a lot of things for giggling in my life. And you know what? I don't care. I didn't giggle because I had something to say - I giggled because I had a giggle. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to suppress those.
All Supplies (except flower) Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Personalized Stamp Ink: Summer Sun, Cameo Coral, Basic Black Paper: Kaleidascope DSP, Whisper White Accessories: 1" circle punch, Bird with Branch & Flowers Die, Big Shot, Shimmer Paint, Sponge Dauber, corner rounder punch, Stampin Sponge, Prima

I made this card for the World Card Making Day Challenge #1 on Splitcoast.

I used Beate's Shimmer Resist technique, because the challenge was to make a quote the focal point of the card, so I wanted the bird image to take a back seat. I photographed it from the side so you could see the shimmer.

I made the bird by running some CS through the Big Shot with the Bird with Leaves & Flowers die. Then I used the negative space cardstock as a stencil and dabbed the Shimmer Paint on through that.

After it was dry - Hey, Beate I don't like to wait for stuff :) - I sponged ink around it. She's so brilliant - it resists ink beautifully. And to be truthful, it doesn't take that long to dry.

The quote I had made by Stampin' Up! with one of the personalized stamps after my mom sent me that quote.

Happy World Cardmaking Day! What are you doing to celebrate this special Caturday?

Have you signed up for the UBlue Cyber Club? Attended one of my Webinars?? Come on - get your geek on! :)

  1. I have yet to sit down today and make a card, but I had to let you know how wonderful your card is. That is my favorite quote - we all need to use the creative gifts we were given. Okay, on my way!

  3. ever hear that song "Lighten Up" by Jim Post, formerly of Friend & Lover? your post reminded me of that.
"lighten up! there are stars in the sky.
lighten up! it's a good question - 'why?'
but you don't know the answer
    and neither do i
so, meanwhile, let's just all lighten up!"

  4. Lydia,

Completely awesome card, even though you had to wait on the shimmer to dry. TeeHee.

What did I do this fine Caturday? Hmmmmm, daughter's soccer team pictures this morning, then immediately on to her game way out in the middle of farm community, which is quite a drive from where we live. Then home to shower all of us, get us all dressed up, then rush off to my nephew's wedding on my hubby's side wayyyyyyyyyyyy down in the city. We live in the burbs, which is somewhere in between the city and farm community. Rush, run, rush run, this was my Caturday. No stamping whatsoever, and I am sad about that. After Church and lunch, I am locking myself in my craft room, and not coming out til...........hmmmmm........I don't know.

    Sincerely,

    The Cat Whisperer
